I've been having some large issues with this codec. First I had to install it somewhere around three times then it finally worked only to crash after about the first 5-6 mins. of the movie. So I tried to re-download it and now I can't complete the installation at all. It gets 2 errors then can't regester so it just stops. If anyone knows what exactly is going on I'm very open to suggestions. The only other thing I can think of is to take the movies into Premiere and re-render them out using a different codec. But will Premiere recognize it without the FFDshow codec?
I never know what to put in these things.

What version are you using? Uninstall it, then go here: C:\Program Files\ffdshow and delete that folder as it might be leaving something behind. Download and install the "2005-04-06 - Unofficial" version from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm During the install, uncheck the XVID box. Should work now...

Thanks. That was the version that I was using but when I had uninstalled an older version since it didn't work correctly. The codec before it left a .ax file that it couldn't overwrite when I attempted to reinstall it. So I checked and it installed fine. Thanks so much for your help. The funny thing is that I had a similar problem with another problem so I have no idea why this never occured to me.

Oh, thanks, rtz. I didn't know what boxes to check during installation, so I just checked them all...
