Iso/mp3 isn't supported. If you convert that to bin/cue it should work.

I made a lua script for this game as an example to include with pcejin. It displays info about game objects such as their x and y positions, current damage, and total hit points. It also calculates the damage the player will inflict on enemies. I started reverse engineering the collision to display hit boxes but I will probably not finish that part. I included the documentation so far if anyone wants to complete it. http://pcejin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/scripts/Legendary_Axe_II.lua

There is now a sync and movie-format compatible alternative to Mednafen for Windows users who want to TAS PC Engine and variants. See this post and http://code.google.com/p/pcejin/

pcejin is a new project I've been working on that takes the PCE emulation core from Mednafen and gives it a real Windows interface. pcejin's movie format is already accepted by the site because it is the same as the submitted Dracula X movies. It is sync compatible with Mednafen and is intended to replace it on Windows for PCE TASing. All current movies should sync on pcejin once converted, and new pcejin movies should sync on Mednafen as well. There is a slight incompatibility with Mednafen mc2 format movies made with a revision prior to 270, since buttons 1 and 2 swapped. Revision 270 of Mednafen, as well as the current version of pcejin have buttons 1 and 2 corrected. To fix a movie, just swap all instances of 1 and 2 in the movie file. Older Mednafen mcm format movies are not affected by that, and can be converted with an option in the tools menu. http://code.google.com/p/pcejin/

It sounds like you tried to use an old version. Try this: http://mednafen-rr.googlecode.com/files/mednafen-rr-249-pce-mc2.zip

Try mounting that image to a virtual drive or dumping it to a regular bin / cue. The windows port of Mednafen-rr can't load every kind of image the linux port can.

Try the J or E versions, check if your image file is correct, and that you've mounted it to a virtual drive correctly. Also check if you have the region setting to either auto-detect or the correct region for the game.

Nice work, I hope you do more runs. The reset bug was fixed and a new version was released if you haven't noticed. If you can give me an exact series of steps that will reset the re-record count to zero I can fix that too. http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/679973/bonk.avi

The link in the first post has been updated with a new version. Changelog: Previous and next savestate slot hotkeys Stylus display during recording with X and Y coordinates Software rasterizer GPU is now the default, some games may look better with OpenGL so try both Ram search and ram watch update when a state is loaded

The link in the first post has been updated with a new version that fixes an issue preventing resuming movies. Starting a recording from a savestate is currently unsupported.

Could you explain what you are doing when it crashes? If you can give me a set of instructions that will always produce a crash it will be easier to diagnose and fix. Also anyone with crashing problems is welcome to come to #desmume on freenode, it will probably be easier to figure out a solution that way.

That's an unofficial build of an older version where you'll likely run into sync problems. Can you paste the error message you got?

Just for the sake of testing, copy the movie to D:\ and rename it bonk.mcm. mednafen -mov D:\bonk.mcm D:\Consol~1\TG-16\ROMS\bonk's~1.zip

Looks good so far, nice work. Are you using this version of mednafen? If so, did it fix the reset problems?
Any way to resolve this?
Make sure you are using full paths for the movie and game (C:\mednafen\game.pce) and that there aren't any spaces or symbols in that path.

This version disables the reset and power-on hotkeys. http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/679973/mednafen-disabled.zip If you still get an accidental reset or power-on, do the following: Find the frame number where it resets. Multiply that number by 11, and add 256. Go to that location in the movie file and you should see a 01 or 02 there. Change that to 00.

This new version should make getting an unwanted reset in a movie file less likely: http://mednafen-rr.googlecode.com/files/mednafen-rerecording-137.zip Don't use your old configuration file with this version.
What did you guys use for the "unofficial" YouTube video of Granzort ?
Your best bet on windows would be a screen recorder such as Camtasia etc. You might need to disable hardware acceleration to use it though.

The first level looked nice and I'd like to see more. However I think you could speed things up by using the strategy in this video when applicable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SENABAEx-DM
