Oh man, That's great!!! Now there's no excuse for delaying the new SM 100% run. :D Great work, adelikat! Edit: It's the first time i'm trying to use Bizhawk, so i could be doing something wrong. There's the "BizHawk.MultiClient.exe" and the "DiscoHawk.exe" and when i double click the first one, i have a error message box kinda "BizHawk.MultiClient encountered a problem and has to be closed..." So i can't open it. The "DiscoHawk" file i can open without any problems, and also this is the first emulator that gives me this message. I'm using WindowsXP SP3. If anyone knows how to fix this, i'd be very thankful. Edit2: Nevermind! Found the prereqs installer.

What a fucking dumb i am. I only saw the first smv where he says he found the trick, but didn't see the other one with it beeing usefull. That's a fucking cool trick. I thought Samus would only float with the grapple glitch while inside the water, but it seems i was wrong. Edit: Btw, this is probably the strategy that's going to be used to defeat Kraid, unless something new is found. smv Just in case you wanna put this in the video too as it's a big improvement over the strategy used in the 100% run. Edit2: Using this Grapple glitch, i had an idea that could prove faster than the usual strategy. When Samus emerge in the Big Maridia Grapple room and you're going for the northwest passage, instead of charging the shinespark, run in full speed, jump in the third gap (same one as you would release the shinespark), Samus will hit the wall and keep going up and will probably be in a good position to use the grapple for full speed in that strange creature. Then use the trick going up and right to the door, but try to go through the door still using the glitch, so you can keep going up in full speed till the door in the ceiling, reaching the area where you collect the missile pack in the right. I have no skills to test that, so i really apreciate if any of you guys test it. Edit3: You're probably going to use that up-grapple-block trick, if so, use this one i posted. I managed to improve it by around 5 frames. It's probably possible to improve it a bit more. smv

Before you make the video, i'll ask you to use the smv i'm posting now instead of the one i posted before, cause this one is better optimized. smv

The smv just shows how to do the trick, but isn't there a smv with the trick beeing used in the one block before SpringBall? I mean, not the smv where you try to go through the ceiling. Btw, here is the other smv you requested, Forensics. smv

Here is an updated pack with some known improvements for the new 100% run and the new ones found recently. The PinkBrinstar smv you requested is inside. SM TAS Stuff

I honestly don't know if i can do that. All i've been doing is basically to copy and paste information, which is easy. But i'll try that anyway when i get home.

Yeah, but it was obsoleted. Anyway, i'll post some smvs later of some known improvements for new run and you decide if you use them or not in the video.

I don't think i've seen that before, is there any smv? Also, i'll make a smv of the shinespark after Crocomire, going through the door openned by the wrap around.

Had some time before going to work. Here is one that will replace two i posted before. This one is a sequence of three tricks: The early shots on the gravity bots to make them go to the holes, the charged ball trick to clean the blocks behind the statue, and a shot in the robot in the hole, to make it move in the right direction to give Samus a boost. smv And this other one is Saturn's strategy for the double kago room after Ridley you requested. smv If you're doing a video of tricks that can help in the new 100% run, i think the strategy to refill missiles before the 1st Super Missile room shouldn't be there, just because it would be out of place. But you could make another video of just cool stuffs. Just my opinion. Also, there's plenty of new tricks that will save time in the new 100% that were discovered in these last years after Cpadolf did that run, but to include all of them would be a pain just because there's too much tricks. It's better to use just these ones postes, because these ones are only know by the members of the TAS comunity that have been following the Super Metroid thread latelly, but the other tricks are already included in any% runs and RBO runs submited and accepted. Again, just my opinion. If you remember of another trick present in other runs you want to include, let me know and i'll try to make a smv of it.

Also the Reverse Kago with Screw Attack Saturn did in his GT Code TAS would be a nice addition as well.
I'll make a smv of that as soon as i can, but it will take a little bit of time cause i have to wait till i get home from work. I'd also like to watch it on youtube. And the door transitions and item boxes should be skipped, unless they're in the end of the smv.

Posted Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to join the trick i mentioned: smv Edit2: And here is the GT Cristal Flash trick smv Also, if you guys are really going to make a video, it could be interesting to put each trick in order, i mean, put them in the order they're going to be executed in the run.

xrayspark Edit: The video is really cool, though i think you should use the "final" version of the strategies. For example the Gauntlet Wrap around version that Cpadolf posted. Also, there's the shinespark over the small lakes before the gravity statues room. Also the charged morphball trick to clean the blocks behind the statue, which is the fastest strategy for in-game time so far. I'll try to compile the best versions i have of each trick/strategy here, maybe it could help for a even better video. Edit2: Here is a compilation of the tricks and strategies i think can be usefull in the new 100% run. TAS tricks compilation

Loved this playaround! I really liked how Mega Man got pissed off by beeing interrupted when preparing his attacks, then he refused to die and killed both enemies! Edit: Yes vote!

It's only possible to CWJ from a door that is in the right side of the screen.

Well, considering this will be an in-game time run, the back track have to be there. The reason is, if you're going for in-game time, sacrifices have to be made for that, and if reentering the door saves one second, it could be arbitrary to avoid reentering the room. You wouldn't be legitimely going for in-game time, and wouldn't be going for realtime too. You have to choose a goal. I honestly think this run should be going for in-game time while optimizing realtime too, for example, if you're not going to loose in-game time, you can optimize door scrolling and stuffs like that. But one thing that should be avoided for saving just little time is pausing the game. I thought about one pause screen that could save some frames, but you would have to pause the game twice for enabling and disabling speedbooster, and the gains will probably be just a few frames, so i don't think it's worth pausing the game and breaking the action for that.

I had the same idea before, but found it unfeasible, so i didn't mention it. Reason is, a perfect strategy for both in-game and realtime would be to have 5 more missiles when entering the First super missile room, go straight to the pink door, clean the reserve tank area and go for the super missile, then fall on the bridge and get the missile pack under it, then proceed to the exit. Now, if you make a smv with this strategy and then compare with the strategy reentering the room, the difference will probably be just around 30 frames or maybe less. So, if you want to be faster than this, you would have to find a way to refill all missiles without wasting more than this difference between both strategies, and honestly i don't think it's possible. The fastest strategy for realtme would be the one used by Cpadolf in his old 100% run, which is less than one second slower than the fastest possible in-game time stragegy. The only other way i see it working is if it was possible to get the missile pack under the bridge and still pass the gates without reentering the room, but it seems it's not possible, ufortunately. It's cool that you decided to start the run, but unfortunately i think this back track is unavoidable if you're going for in-game time. Though i don't think it really hurts that much, considering the run will be greatly entertaining.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to do the handshake of death with weapons? For example, while Max hit the enemies with a punch or kick, Skate throws a weapon or hit the enemies with a weapon.
