The Espeon I would heavily consider going for has an IV spread of 30 / 30 / 30 / 31 / 31 / 31, modest nature, target seed a5fd8741. The problem is with dolphin. Specifically the memory watch (address 80478c90 on U ROM) gives me the wrong seed. I use ColoPredictor (which I downloaded from speedrun.com btw) to see which Umbreon / Espeon I actually hit, and see if it matches RNG reporter. Turns out I'm off by way too many RNG frames. And memory watch is only on debug mode for now. Perhaps the next stable build of dolphin will allow memory watch without debug?

Reopening this discussion. I watched Rene's TAS progress up to Gateon Port just to reflect. First things first, nowadays we don't pick up the Water Stone like Rene did (at least non-TAS) and Rene himself still did not answer my comment. Second, there are other minor details that we know are slower in real-time runs. First, we forfeit the battle sim because it still allows us to progress and it's faster than even winning on one turn, let alone two; and we also view the ONBS news before going into Adon's room. And finally, to answer toothache. I actually watched a 4:37 run just recently, making a TAS of XD that much more desirable. I also commented just now in the Colosseum forum. Exact same engine as Colosseum, except XD rerolls Shadow Pokémon if they are shiny, and of course, the story (being a sequel set 5 years after the events of Colosseum) which means different starting setup and different fights.

Maybe it's because Skrub's Hitmontop has Bright Powder (or Lax Incense) during that fight only? If not that, it would certainly hearken back to the "1 in 256 miss glitch" from good old RBY. So the question is does Hitmontop have Bright Powder / Lax Incense? I'm thinking not really

You have got to be kidding me. There is a WIP section on the site. Next time, don't post your WIP here. Post it there instead. Voting no for this reason. A full game TAS may be much harder for me to say no to, in fact I might even say yes if I actually saw a TAS of the entire game.

Is Black 2 or White 2 preferred? The two locations that differ with the version are Route 4 and Reversal Mountain. Black 2 is a straight shot on both (and in fact there's no sandstorm on Route 4), but there's more mandatory trainers in those areas in Black 2. Also, Charles (on Route 5 just before the Driftveil Drawbridge where Ducklett can be found) is mandatory in both versions, and you need at least three Pokémon by then, including the starter and possibly the Minccino from Route 5's Hidden Grotto. Charles will challenge a Black 2 team to a rotation, or a White 2 team to a triples. Taking all these factors into consideration (as well as the cries of the fused Kyurems) White 2 should be faster.

I'm interested in a Pokémon Black version run with Tepig and its evolved forms as the runner. Because Tranquill are not available wild on Route 6 in the winter, that leaves Pinwheel Forest for the flier, Pidove; any season but winter, and you have to traverse the entirety of Twist Mountain. Plus, note the Quick Claw's location: just after Pinwheel Forest. A lot of the Gym Leaders are jokes to Tepig's line, especially #3 (Burgh) and #7 (Brycen). And even #1 (Cress) can be made easy, even for a Tepig solo. Do get Pansage, but after the gym (or is it faster to recruit a Patrat?) because Tepig cannot learn Cut, which is needed to access the back of the Dreamyard. Speaking of Route 1 recruitment, is Lillipup's Pickup Ability useful, be it pre- or post-QC? As for endgame, the Elite Four can be done in any order, but for the sake of an Emboar run, Grimsley should probably be first. Reshiram (note the emphasis on "Black version") makes final N a joke; Reshiram and Emboar can team up to dispatch Ghetsis. I'm also interested in a 100% of Kirby Mass Attack as well as a 3 Heart run of LOZ Phantom Hourglass, and possibly even Spirit Tracks.
