woabclf's TAS of this category is one of my long-time favorites. It's an absolute delight to see a substantial improvement like this. I loved the new techniques in Wily 4 and the fact that you no longer take a death in Wily 2. Amazing work.

This is a masterpiece. I watched this 3 times in a row, something I haven't done for any TAS since zvsp's Bomberman 64 100% TAS many, many years ago. The extremely enemy kill-heavy route is a sight to behold, transforming the 13 columns screen from a chore into an absolute delight. I just adore TASes of this game, and this particular one is one of the greatest TASes I have ever watched. Can't even imagine how crazy the 100% TAS is going to be. Thanks for TASing this game again 15 years after your original efforts on it.

Fair enough. They certainly seem very time-consuming to TAS. Thanks for giving the Lolo games your attention though, they're some of NES' most undersung games.

Nice job with this improvement! Huge fan of this game. I had posted this in the Adventures of Lolo thread years ago, but are you aware of the Japanese versions of the Lolo games? This game is equivalent to Adventures of Lolo 2 in Japan, except the puzzles in that game are even more challenging than in this one. Myself and a group of friends blind-race through Lolo games every now and then and we'd all love to see a TAS of Lolo 2J, the hardest game in the series.

This TAS is absolutely a worthy successor to its predecessor. I don't have much more to say other than that I'm very happy this has finally been completed and submitted. Congrats guys, and thank you.

I actually enjoyed this TAS greatly, despite my issues with other TASes that break all the logical flow of the game. Many of the glitches had me laughing out loud because of how fundamentally they subverted certain mechanics/animations (being a former speedrunner of this game probably enhanced this aspect for me). There was also enough variety for me to keep the TAS from becoming stale. Yes vote, and although this TAS will surely turn off a portion of the viewership due to its extreme nature, I think it deserves a star too.

I'm not going to get into a drawn out argument about this, but to answer your specific points: I was actually totally fine with using moonfall to clip through the ground earlier on - there have long been clips through the floor. I'm not knowledgeable about all the technical details regarding blue suit so I'm not sure where exactly it was used in this TAS. The X-Ray to deal constant damage to Draygon thing is whatever to me but during my experience watching the TAS it was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back after all the graphically messed up warping in the rooms leading up to that. My argument is that this TAS is not entertaining to me. And believe me, glitches get restricted all the time because the runners don't like them, they're just justified post hoc with technical mumbo jumbo. I only posted my opinion on this TAS because I had strong feelings about it. (By the way, masterful job by Sniq - it's technically very impressive).

I did not find this TAS entertaining, and I have been greatly entertained by dozens of Super Metroid TAS's and realtime runs in the past. The SM 100% TAS is one of my very favorites on the site. However, I stopped watching this TAS and closed the video shortly after the Draygon fight. At a certain point, banning or allowing tricks and techniques is essentially arbitrary and based on our subjective feeling of whether it is entertaining or not. We who participate in this hobby of speedrunning and TASing like to justify our reasons for wanting to include or exclude certain maneuvers with reasons like "the base mechanic, on a code level, can also be used to do an ACE credits warp, so it's banned from the warpless/no major glitches category", or on the other hand, "you technically stay in-bounds when using this technique in this certain way that can also allow you to credits warp if used in another way, so it's fine if it's used only in the ways that don't allow you to credits warp". In the end, we will ban the things that make a playthrough not fun or entertaining and we will find the reason or explanation we want to do so with a minimum of perceived arbitrariness. I came into this video expecting a playthrough of Super Metroid with "no major glitches". I did not enjoy seeing Samus warp near-instantly to the end of rooms, walk seemingly out of bounds even though she might have "technically" still been in-bounds according to memory values, and kill Draygon by shooting a single shot and then flashing an X-ray for a couple seconds. I can see a lot of other people enjoyed this TAS. I did not enjoy it, and I think it is very much not in the spirit of this category. I voted no.

Honestly, this is a bit of a silly idea for a TAS. However, this is a childhood game that I am quite fond of, and I absolutely adore this game's style and swagger (not to mention its jaw-droppingly good soundtrack - god bless FM synthesis). I also appreciate that you went out of your way to show basically all the content in the game not shown off by the existing pure-speed-oriented TASes on the site, by not using solo Fang for any of the playthroughs. For these reasons I give this TAS my full stamp of approval.

I was able to watch this whole thing over the course of several days. I enjoyed it, but I questioned many small decisions that were made throughout the course of the TAS. Using the long-animation sleep move to hit only 1 or 2 enemies, having allied units wait when it seems like they could've done something useful, etc. I'm sure there were reasons for most of these that I couldn't perceive because of my shallow recollection of the mechanics, but I was surprised at how many decisions seemed strange on the surface. Of course, SRPGs have a ton of interweaving elements going on that all need to be juggled and considered to fully optimize for speed. I think this is good enough for publish, so yes vote from me.

Hey Challenger, Phil & Morrison's old Castlevania TAS is one of my fondest works on this website. I wouldn't be able to tell you precisely why that is the case. Castlevania is not the most exciting action game. However, in Phil & Morrison's publication there is a rare beauty and elegance one doesn't often find in TASes. They accomplish a lot with relatively little at their disposal. Unexpected point gains, surprising cross kill chains, and a delightful deliberateness exhibited in Simon's movements: this is what I come for when I engage in my periodic rewatch of their movie. How unexpected, then, to visit the TASVideos home page, and see a new Castlevania entry in the Submissions queue, unadorned with any superfluous "pacifist" or "MSX" tags. How even more unexpected, moreover, to see the author of said Castlevania submission be none other than my dearest Challenger, who so stalwartly persevered in the face of the then-unknown to deliver a marvelous first publication of Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics to the world. Challenger, although I will always have a place in the TAS connoisseur corner of my heart for Phil & Morrison's rendition of Castlevania, your new movie admirably preserves the old's strengths while infusing new life into a classic entry on this site. Your fast growth as a TASer and quickly-established prolific output are admirable. My congratulations to you regarding this submission.

There is only one ending. Any videos or reports of other endings are fanmade or trolls. Yume Nikki is one of my favorite works of art, never mind videogames. I enjoyed this TAS, though this is the only game among my very favorites that I would never personally speedrun. I don't believe there is an official English version of this game (just fan translation patches), so I'd imagine a published TAS would have to be on the Japanese version. I wasn't aware that any of the glitches were achievable on only a patched copy of the game and not the original version, that's very interesting.

can't believe it took 14 years for an Ikari Warriors NES TAS to be submitted to this site. this game is too notorious for there not to be a TAS of it on here. thank you for finally filling this void, ktwo. will watch when an encode is drummed up.
