TAS of the Decade 201X (2010-2019) Post originally written by Nach, edited by Mothrayas 2010 to 2019 is the first full decade we've ever had on TASVideos. For you dear viewer, this is a rare opportunity to vote on the best TASes of an entire decade. Join us for this historic award! How nominations work: All movies that previously won a TAS of the year award during 201X (2010-2019) are automatically nominated. However, these movies may not have held up as well as when initially awarded, and the novelty has worn off. Perhaps in retrospect, some other movies look better than they once did. Therefore, we will also allow nominations of other movies from this time frame. Any Moons or Stars movie published during 201X (2010-2019) which has not won any awards will require at least 3 nominations to be included in the award poll. Any movie which has won a single award will require at least 2 nominations to be included. Any movie with two or more awards will only require at least a single nomination to be included. Nominations must be in the usual manner, specifying the TAS using the movie ID enclosed within [movie][/movie]. For example, if you wanted to nominate movie with ID 1234, you'd use: [movie]1234[/movie] which will turn into a link like so: [1234] GBA Metroid Fusion (USA) "100%" in 1:35:49.53 by BioSpark. If you do not nominate properly, your nomination will be ignored. We are enforcing a 5 nomination limit per user. If you nominate more, only the first 5 you specify will be counted. How voting will work: From the final results, the top three by vote count will each get a TAS of the decade award of Gold, Silver or Bronze. If any position is contested, we will have a run off poll, so there will only be a single winner for each of these prestigious awards. If Gold happens to be tied, then of the run off poll, the winner will be Gold, and the runner up will be Silver, and so on. Due to the importance of this award, we will be accepting nominations for 14 days until 2020-02-14 23:59:59. Voting will be from 2020-02-15 00:00:00 to 2020-02-28 23:59:59. Any potential run-off polls will occur in March. A list of all 1710 movies eligible for nomination is available here.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

you are limited to 5 nominations, please read the rules, as these awards are done differently than the normal tas awards

[2529] Windows Hyper Princess Pitch "Reallyjoel's Mom difficulty, best ending" by Tseralith in 15:40.48, which takes a secret difficulty mode intended by the author to be completely impossible, and beats it anyway. It has a ludicrous amount of enemies (and bullets) on-screen, solid ratings for star tier, and probably the highest kill-count-per-second of any TAS. [2636] NES Super Mario Bros., 2, The Lost Levels & 3 by agwawaf in 08:49.78, because controlling four games at the same time is a great example of how far beyond ordinary gameplay TAS'es can get, and would make even people who never heard of TAS'ing do a second take. It doesn't get much TAS'ier than that. [1917] Windows Cave Story "best ending" by nitsuja in 50:10.30, as the author created the TAS'ing platform Hourglass just to make this movie; and it's also and utterly destroys the game by juggling multiple weapons at the same time, takes hard bosses down in half a second, and makes it look stylish. [2825] DOOM The Ultimate Doom "Episode 2" by Akse in 03:22.01, since DOOM is the community where TAS'ing first originated back in 1999, and that deserves recognition. This is our first, and highest-rated, DOOM run; it breaks records that have been thoroughly analyzed and optimized for two decades; and makes an art out of manipulating big crowds of enemies. [3358] GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version "arbitrary code execution" by MrWint in 05:48.28, a work of art that even by ACE standards looks utterly impossible; "how does he DOOOOO this?"

(2/2) [3134] GB Pokémon: Blue and Red Version "Coop Diploma" by MrWint in 3:48:04.10 --- This TAS is just absolute art when it comes to routing. I can't not vote this. (1/2) [3415] SNES Donkey Kong Country "101%" by Tompa in 41:18.37 --- Incredible TAS IMO. (1/3) [2307] SNES Super Mario World "all 96 exits" by bahamete, kaizoman666 & Masterjun in 1:14:37.63 --- I always regarded this TAS and Majora's Mask as a classic. I would still absolutely enjoy watching both of these TASes. (1/1) [4086] Genesis Sonic 3 & Knuckles "ring attack, newgame+" by Evil_3D, TheYogWog & kaan55 in 1:26:11.12 --- Much similar to Pokémon, but this TAS is much more action packed which makes it different to TAS. Lovely TAS. (1/3) [3878] GBA Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure by WarHippy in 33:31.87 --- This TAS is easily one of the most enjoyable TASes to watch IMO! --- (I would vote for [1851] N64 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask by MrGrunz in 1:29:32.02 but it's already chosen thanks to TAS of the year lol) Edit: So I just saw [3358] GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version "arbitrary code execution" by MrWint in 05:48.28 and what the /? I'm ABSOLUTELY mind blown. Won't nominate it since it will already be a vote, but, wow.

GC Tony Hawk's Underground (USA) in 44:11.8 by The Packle. Genesis Earthworm Jim 2 (USA) in 21:15.06 by YamiAmarillo. GB Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (USA v1.0) in 20:49.86 by dadinfinitum. I might add links later. I got to go right now.

[1950] SNES Super Metroid "Reverse Boss Order" by Taco, Kriole & hero_of_the_day in 48:06.65 Another TAS I remember watching and thinking this was impossible, but actually made me really interested in Super Metroid TASes then. [3874] SNES The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past "full inventory" by fmp & Yuzuhara_3 in 52:52.44 Very impressive from any perspective you look at it. [3358] GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version "arbitrary code execution" by MrWint in 05:48.28 Blew my mind. [2741] Genesis Sonic 3 & Knuckles by Aglar & marzojr in 26:53.06 One of the first and best Tases I have watched. [1649] NES Mega Man 2 by aglasscage, finalfighter, pirohiko & Shinryuu in 23:48.51 This long standing 2010 one. Watched this one several times over the years.

Look at those sweet subpixels. You can't look at them, because they're subpixels, but they look so good." - The8bitbeast "It's as if I knew what was going to happen. It's as if I had the plan written in front of me and I was reading it. I mean, I do have it in front of me, but I'm not reading it." -garagedooropener

[2083] Genesis Streets of Rage 2 "2 players" by Sonikkustar in 22:58.57 I find this run very entertaining and impressive after all these years.
