Noxxa: As multiple people have tried and failed to sync this movie, more information about computer specs and Dolphin configuration should be provided (unless someone else trying to sync the run figures it out on their own). As such, setting to decision: needs more info, until exact info on how to sync the movie is posted.
Noxxa: Info on required hardware to sync the run has been provided and confirmed; now setting to delayed until it is determined if, given this requirement, a staff member or approved user can dump/encode the movie for publication purposes.
Noxxa: The above has now happened, so resetting to judging underway.
Noxxa: Excellent quality TAS, with high-precision movement and action all over the place. Viewer response was very good. Accepting to Moons, although I can also see it getting a star (as multiple people have suggested), once a starman has reviewed it.
thecoreyburton: I'll be processing this one, though it may take a little while.
That's a pity that some good GC/Wii games have sync problems because this is a very good run, even deserve a star, I hope in further Dolphin version this can be fixed.
I think that having no communication with the author (even the submission text is only in Japanese seeing that the site is usually English) make things more difficult for the encoder.
I would suggest that the submission be paused until the author is contacted.
I asked other Japanese if this movie to sync, but they desync in Pinna Episode 3

To point out this is not the current generation (Which is Skylake onwards).
zelpikukirby is running on an Intel HD Graphics 3000.
I have a system that runs Intel HD Graphics 4000 so I'm giving it a shot on sync.
If you own something that is running Intel HD Graphics 3000 I urge you to check it.
(I checked with a HD Graphics 630 which desyncs at Pinna Park Episode 3.)
And desyncs for me on this HD Graphics 4000, Pinna Park Episode 3.
Edit: DwainiumB has synced, imma double check my shit.
Double checked my stuff. I still desync with the 4000, so 3000 is your bet.
It's basically just Default Graphic settings btw.
Just Direct3D 11 and Intel HD Graphics 3000 like DwainiumB wrote.

DwaniumB just got the entire TAS to sync on his computer. He posted screenshots of his settings as well as the MD5 checksum on the TASVideos discord server.

but are there differences between JP version and US version?
Actually, JP and PAL60 version as US is considered slower than PAL60 (Italian for fastest language, for those wondering language choice).
Well besides the obvious, cause RTA.
Stolen from The Cutting Room Floor.
* In Episode 6 of Sirena Beach, Mario has to clean 99% of the goop in the Japanese version but only 95% in the international versions.
* In the Japanese version, every time Delfino Plaza loads it loads roughly 1/3 of a second faster than the international versions.
* In the Japanese version, when Shine Sprites appear after defeating Shadow Mario in one of the levels, they do not spin as they fall, but they do in the international versions.
* The US and European versions have a glitch called the Fruit Storage Glitch. By dismounting Yoshi while Yoshi is in the process of eating a fruit, the fruit will stay in mid-air. This allows you to eat the fruit at any point in the level.
Stolen from the Sunshine Speedrunners. Cherry-picked, since there's more of a list than in comparison to TCRF and I've already provided the link for you to go through yourself.
* Getting off Yoshi allows clips, because you jump off Yoshi backwards, while in other versions it's more of a vertical dismount.
* Minimal amount of air damage frames.
* If you throw a fruit as you land, you can make the fruit float in mid-air.
* Faster loading.
* When Shadow Mario shines spawn, as they fall they don't spin.

Just to update everyone: this publication is back on track.
I think it's worth thanking both DwainiumB and Warepire for their efforts in relation to this run, as DwainiumB was able to provide a dump of the full run and Warepire provided three patched versions of Dolphin, which helped fix known graphical problems.
It will still be a little while longer, but now it looks to be business as usual.
I'm not as active as I once was, but I can be reached here if I should be needed.
TAS i'm interested:
Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS?
i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.
The movie would need to get more ratings than it currently has to have a chance at stars.

What percentage of this is cutscenes? 60%?
Amazing work by the authors, but I think the game/category choice makes this a worse candidate for stars than a TAS of this quality would normally be

The great part about watching this on youtube is you can just skip past cutscenes!

Super Metroid has a ton of downtime as well, with really long door transitions and item collection jingles and nobody has a problem with Super Metroid TASes having stars. The presence of downtime is not a disqualifying factor for Stars if the rest of the movie is excellent.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero
It's starred now and fair enough - the authors did a really excellent job on a justifiably popular game
However, the idea that downtime shouldn't count negatively is extremely surprising and borderline unbelievable. Do you think downtime cannot have a negative impact on how entertaining a run is?
(Note that I didn't say anything about "disqualifying", I merely said it was a worse candidate than it would otherwise be, i.e. that there is something negative about having a lot of downtime, not that no game or TAS can overcome this negative attribute)
Too much downtime definitely negatively affects a TAS for me even with youtube features or cutsceneless encodes for those that have them. However, personally, it's the uniqueness of a TAS that entertains me most. Individuality is way more important than simply meeting some checklist objectives.

I don't think we disagree that strongly
I want to see fast/clever/funny gameplay in TASes, and I'm willing to put up with some downtime to get that (but would prefer to minimize dead time in runs)
