Till now, we supported embedding SVN commit logs and RSS feed updates on our site. This allowed our site to display emulator updates or other feeds of importance. The modules used to accomplish this in the past have been deprecated in favor of a new feed module which supersedes all previous functionality. In addition to being faster, it now also offers the ability to pull Atom feeds! Now updates from Google Code sites not using SVN (such as GIT or Hg) can now be displayed as well, for example Dolphin. Or updates from GitHub. Thanks to this, embedding other kinds of feeds, such as an emulator bug reports list is now also possible.

JWPlayer that we use for playing embedded Archive.org videos on the site never worked quite right. For example, you were not able to properly switch between a JWPlayer powered video and a YouTube video on the movie pages. Such videos on the forum also had links around them appearing in the wrong place in some browsers. All these issues have been fixed. Along with that, fake links on the movie pages that would take you nowhere in some browsers have also been removed. Force refresh your browsers to get the new JavaScript. Lastly, the video tag on the forum now supports nicovideo too.

One can now allow other users to edit one's submissions even if those users wouldn't normally be allowed to (handy for having your co-authors be able to edit). The field containing these users is "Extra edit privileges:" in submission (edit) form (if you have multiple, separate by ';').

You can now place videos from Nico Nico Douga (nicovideo) on our wiki pages, including submissions, using our new nicovideo module.

We have quite a few Chinese TASers and plenty of fans, and unfortunately, many of the major worldwide video hosting sites are blocked in China. In order to aid our Chinese users to become part of the community, the forum now supports embedding video from Baidu, Sina, and YouKU. Note: Baidu requires that your operating system or browser have some recent certificates installed. If you don't, you can install one manually.

In continuation of adding on video embedding support for Chinese TASers and TAS fans, we now support embedding video from Tudou on our forums too. This brings the amount of Chinese streaming options we support up to 4.

There is now a section on the site for uploading WIP movie files. All submitable file formats are supported (additionally, Lua scripts and memory watch files too). All users receive 20MB of storage, and published players receive 40MB. There's a list of new WIPs available in the WIP movie files section, as well as on personal user pages. Users can also make a WIP hidden if they don't want the general public to see it yet.

Over the course of the past few weeks, the site has undergone some re-categorization and changes to rules regarding publication. The details of this new system were discussed in this thread. The most notable change is that you will see the front page contain a movie listing called the Vault. This is basically movies that lacked entertainment value (as judged by the submission viewing audience) but were nonetheless well made. Over the next few months we will be retroactively moving old submissions into the vault. New submissions will still be given priority, so I don't intend this to interfere with the judging and publishing of new submissions. In addition, some new changes will be coming up as well. Over the past few years, the amount of content on this site has increased dramatically, and with the new publication rules, we would expect that to grow even more. While that's great for the site and community, it does pose a problem with movie listings. So we are working on better ways to organize and filter publications so that users can find what they are looking for. Expect to see some previews and discussions over the course of the next few months. Also, please bear with us as we transition towards these new features.
