Entertaining it may be... but that's not what TASVideos is about. It's about being absolutely, perfect, superhuman abilities. All about the quality..

You are not even frame perfect on your menuing on the Intro, you are literally spamming buttons to start the game. I also feel you are taking unnecessary damage, during the boss I understand taking damage allows you to damage quicker but there's hits you take earlier that could possibly be avoided.

Honestly it looks like a normal RTA run. This is a tool assisted speedrun community. We strive to create the most perfect speedruns possible, not decent real time runs. There is a tremendous difference that I feel you don't understand at all.

I watched the encode (thanks, solarplex!). I wanted to find this entertaining, but there were just too many parts that were not done with frame advance. The slow advancing through text and the sloppy movement down the ladder that could have been optimized far better significantly detracted from the entertainment value due to how distracting the obvious mistakes were.

It's not so much about having a ton of rerecords (I happen to think that rerecord count gets more attention than it ought to). It has a whole lot more to do with the fact that you have a history of neglecting to use frame advance and you submitted a 93 second TAS with only 19 rerecords (an average of one rerecord every 4.8 seconds). The math alone shows that you could not have possibly put much effort into making the gameplay good (which was what you asked about).
We would all like to see you improve and grow in your ability to TAS games. Take some time to try using frame advance to post a short WIP that is perfect and I suspect people will start to believe you are capable of contributing useful material. Until you can show that you have mastered frame advance, expect to see less than favorable comments about your level of quality.

Usually, you open the movie and then change from read-only to record (read+write) mode, load a savestate, and start recording input.
