Game: Boppin' DOS v1.1 registered

This movie is based on the premade Early 90s PCem config: http://files.tasvideos.org/common/Wiki/pcem/dos/PCem-Early90s.7z

Follow the readme provided with the config to install it. Name the files boppin.cfg, boppin.pb570.nvr, and boppin.img.

The config will need the ROM files 1007by0r.bio, 1007by0r.bi1, and gd5430.bin (these are all case-sensitive) in the ~/.pcem/roms/pb570/ folder. If there is a flash.bin in this folder, delete it or you will get desyncs!

Make a new folder and put the files for Boppin registered DOS version 1.1 in it. The files and their MD5s are:

4ae0e820150335340068ebd6d91a9123  bop-help.exe
3464ec93a6b672a7c63e06b44e2052b8  boppin1.lvl

9ef4c7ec3d56ea67f5c0868af5b826e5  setup.exe

Make an ISO of these files with this terminal command, substituting the path to the folder you just made: mkisofs -o boppin.iso /path/to/folder/

In boppin.cfg, set cdrom_drive = 200, cdrom_path = /path/to/boppin.iso, and hdc_fn = /path/to/boppin.img.

Also in boppin.cfg, replace the [Joysticks] section with the following:

[Joysticks]
joystick_0_nr = 1
joystick_1_nr = 0
joystick_0_axis_0 = -2147483648
joystick_0_axis_1 = 1073741824
joystick_0_button_0 = 0
joystick_0_button_1 = 1

This sets up a joystick, mapping the stick to a controller D-pad. Alternately, to set it up through the PCem config GUI, plug in a USB Xbox controller and go to the Joysticks tab. Set Joystick to "Standard 2- button joystick(s)". Click on the "Joystick 1..." button. In the Joystick Configuration window, set the device to your USB controller, set Axis 0 to "POV 0 (X axis)", and set Axis 1 to "POV 0 (Y axis)". Hit OK to save everything.

In libTAS, make sure Runtime -> Prevent writing to disk is checked, otherwise you might have to remake the hard drive after running the movie once. Set the executable to your PCem path and set the command-line options to `--config /path/to/boppin.cfg`.}}

Set game executable to your pcem path. Set command-line options to --config {path to your .cfg file here} and then run the movie. This should leave you with these three files from the Late 80s premade config:

For now, you may want to have fast-forward on when you run this movie. There are two restart inputs in the movie; these can be buggy. Each time there's a restart input, you will have to close the window manually after it. You can tell there's been a restart because the frame counter stops, these only happen on reboot prompts in the FreeDOS installation. Emulation normally continues and the RTC keeps ticking until you close the window, but if you have fast-forward on, it pauses the emulation properly. Just X out the PCem window and it will restart on its own after that. On the last frame of the movie, stop and kill PCem through libTAS.

This should leave you with these three files from the Early 90s premade config:

.cfg file in ~/.pcem/configs/ - Hashes for this will vary because file paths/names will be different for everyone.

.nvr file in ~/.pcem/nvr/ - md5: 4628d06be958fb8b577376d3f6c4a447

Game: Boppin' DOS v1.1 registered

This movie is based on the premade Early 90s PCem config: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KF5WPXgZTHVQL4UV8EmHlxP6Fag_BTot/view?usp=sharing

In boppin.cfg, replace the [Joysticks] section with the following:

[Joysticks]
joystick_0_nr = 1
joystick_1_nr = 0
joystick_0_axis_0 = -2147483648
joystick_0_axis_1 = 1073741824
joystick_0_button_0 = 0
joystick_0_button_1 = 1

In boppin.img, insert the files for Boppin registered DOS version 1.1 into the root directory. The files and their MD5s are:

4ae0e820150335340068ebd6d91a9123  bop-help.exe

Follow these instructions up through the NVR section: http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/PCem/DOS.html#Early90s

Download FD12LGCY.iso (md5: a55750577b4c3b88dba489df4f929f88) from here: https://www.freedos.org/download/

In your .cfg file, set cdrom_drive = 200 and set cdrom_path = {path to FD12LGCY.iso here}.

In ~/.pcem/pcem.cfg, set confirm_on_stop_emulation = 0.

Set game executable to your pcem path. Set command-line options to --config {path to your .cfg file here} and then run the movie.

This is the last WIP I'll upload before I complete the run. This run syncs fully for me on Bizhawk 2.5. The SHA-1 hash of the firmware file I used BEFORE the user data is blanked out is:
AE22DE59FBF3F35CCFBEACAEBA6FA87AC5E7B14B
Once Bizhawk blanks out the user data (it converts 0x3FE00 and beyond to 0xFF), it becomes the accepted firmware file and earns the green check mark. You can actually produce the accepted firmware file yourself by duplicating this process in a hex editor.

N+ with episodes 0 through 19 done. I updated the beginning of the movie to unlock the Atari bonus levels, along with some improvements on earlier levels that saves 84 frames total.

The first 15 episodes are done. I will probably go back and shave some frames off at some point now that I've learned some new quirks with the engine. The game is very hex-friendly so this shouldn't be an issue.
This was made with the DS core of Bizhawk, which is still in the testing phase. This movie should work on version 2.4.1.
