Hi! I'm Walgrey!
I'm a speedrunner. I've speedran many games, but the ones I'm most well known for are Geometry Dash, Skylanders: SWAP Force, & Mario Party 9 (weird selection, I know). I don't have a lot of experience with the more advanced aspects of making TASes, but I'm really passionate about doing my best!
This is my first time making a homepage and I don't really know what I'm supposed to put here? So, I'll just list of my current projects and my games wishlist. Hopefully I clean this up more soon.
Current Projects
Ratatouille (GBA)
Probably the biggest project I'm working on at the moment. Also one of the first "obscure" video games I've speedran. It's a 2D platformer where you have to find ingredients in several maze-like levels, with some cooking minigames here and there. I've had the pleasure of meeting RetroEdit and having them help me with the cooking minigames! I'm worried that some movement is a little unoptimized but I'm determined to make this the best TAS it can possibly be.
Wishlists
And here we go! A list of games that I'd like to TAS. Brace yourselves! It's a lot!
Atari 2600
- 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe "Level 8"
- Centipede "Max score"
- Fishing Derby
- Home Run
- I love baseball!
- Mario Bros.
- Maze Craze "All mazes"
- Maze Craze uses a seed to generate its mazes. 65 536 seeds, 65 536 mazes. This is like, a really bad idea, but I'm extremely curious to see how long this would take, or if it's even possible.
- Missile Command "Max score"
- Outlaw
- Small game where you simply have to shoot a target 10 times. Weirdly enough though, I can't even tie the RTA IGT WR of 17 seconds.
- Surround
- Tennis
- Video Chess "Level 7"
- My all time dream. I was really inspired when I saw Winslinator's Checkers "Game 3" TAS. I think the concept of reducing CPU thinking times is really neat! This is just that concept taken to its extreme.
- Yars' Revenge
GBA
- A Sound of Thunder
- Backyard Skateboarding
- GBA port of the 2005 PC game. Ear-bleeding music.
- bit Generations: COLORIS
- A game where you have to change the colours of tiles to clear them. My PB for this game is around 1 hour and 32 minutes. I'm really really curious to see how much faster a TAS can do it.
- bit Generations: DIALHEX
- Really fun, challenging game where you match triangular panels to make hexagon shapes.
- bit Generations: DIGIDRIVE
- You unlock this game's credits by beating the CPU on its three difficulties.
- bit Generations: dotstream
- A game where you race lines. I have a personal fondness for this one.
- bit Generations: ORBITAL
- A game where you control a star by pushing or pulling yourself towards gravitational fields. Probably the most extremely difficult game of this series.
- bit Generations: Soundvoyager
- A game with lots of sound-based challenges. Very inventive.
- Bratz: The Movie
- Camp Lazlo: Leaky Lake Games
- Walking simulator with some minigames.
- Chessmaster "All challenges"
- Finding Nemo: The Continuing Adventures
- High School Musical: Livin' the Dream
- Pretty long 2D platformer. After beating the first half of the game, you have to beat the second half of the game while beating the times you set in the first half. You might have to waste time in the first half because of that? I remember having to do that in my run, as the game would become impossible if I didn't.
- You lose 1 frame every time you jump/land.
- Also has “takes damage/deaths to save time” potential.
- Hot Potato! "Score Game"
- I noticed when I published my first TAS for this game, "Mission Game" was added as a branch, and so I thought "why not make a Score Game TAS?" Frankly, it's a lot longer and not really interesting, and I don't want to force myself to do something I don't really enjoy. So I'll just leave this here for now.
- Inspector Gadget: Advance Mission
- Inspector Gadget Racing
- Mouse Trap / Operation / Simon
- One of those 3-in-1 games by DSI Games.
- You think TASing Simon would be easy, but if you get the same colour twice, you have to lose a frame. The earlier you get a double, the more overall frames you lose.
- A perfect game of Simon would be (0.75)^19 I believe or a 0.423% chance.
- Piglet's Big Game
- Really, really bad game featuring Piglet.
- Strawberry Shortcake: Sweet Dreams
- I mean... it's a game that exists? Really short.
- The Ant Bully
- The Berenstain Bears & the Spooky Old Tree
- A platformer where you switch control between three bears to solve puzzles.
- The Jungle Book
- Really bad game.
- The Land Before Time: Into the Mysterious Beyond
- An interesting game with a surprisingly large gameplay variety. I see potential in this, although there is a really long autoscroller section.
- Winnie the Pooh's Rumbly Tumbly Adventure
- Like Piglet's Bad Game but - sorry Piglet's Big Game (that was an actual typo lmao) but shorter.
DS
- 007: Blood Stone
- Arkanoid DS
- Break'em All
- Breakout clone. Quest Mode involves getting the ball through a hole at the top of the screen to progress to the next stage. Also contains boss battles.
- Build-A-Bear Workshop: Welcome to Hugsville
- Really long game where you have to play lots of minigames.
- Camp Rock: The Final Jam
- Chessmaster: The Art of Learning
- Chess game with minigames and timed puzzles.
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
- Mission-based Fruit Ninja clone that might be interesting to see. RNG plays a factor.
- Crosswords DS "100%"
- I absolutely love this game. Playing it on and off for two years now.
- Full completion would involve getting the highest rank on all 935 crosswords, beating all 240 wordsearches, and solving 900 anagram puzzles (to get their medals).
- Disney Planes
- Disney Tangled
- Thought it would be easy, but there's some weirdness going on with the loading in this game. Outside of that, there's probably some routing potential (you can collect Sundrops and use them to skip minigames).
- Disney's A Christmas Carol
- Point and click Christmas game.
- Finding Nemo: Escape to the Big Blue
- Sequel to Finding Nemo: The Continuing Adventures
- Herbie: Rescue Rally
- Racing game.
- HOP
- Top-down shooter game that I weirdly think is interesting.
- Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
- Cool platformer.
- Iron Man
- Iron Man 2
- Monster House
- Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
- Interesting 2D platformer.
- Open Season
- Pictionary!
- Rango
- Ratatouille
- Shrek Forever After
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge
- The Cheetah Girls: Pop Star Sensations
- The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer
- The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Circle of Spies
- Bad, long 2D platformer with a lot of backtracking. For some reason, I would really like to see this one TASed. Just completely destroyed.
- Up
- WALL-E
DSi
- Art Style: BASE 10
- Art Style: BOXLIFE
- Art Style: ZENGAGE
- Cut the Rope
Wii
Probably not going to get around to these any time soon (Dolphin is scary).
- Arkanoid Plus!
- Cars 2 "100%"
- One of my favourite racing games on the Wii. It's so good. The speedrunning community has also found lots of amazing glitches and shortcuts, so this is just an absolute must.
- Deadly Creatures
- Game where you play as a spider and a scorpion. Really hope there's some glitch potential in this one.
- Disney Tangled "2 Players"
- A game where you can either control both characters with one player or two players. Using two separate controllers can allow for some timesaves.
- Just Dance 2014 "Full completion"
- My favourite Just Dance game.
- Skylanders: SWAP Force
- Will never happen unless we specifically get TAS tools for Skylanders.
- You, Me, and the Cubes "All stages"
- Very hard game. Beating the game will unlock a second series of stages that are a lot harder.
- WALL-E
3DS
- Mario Party: Island Tour "Bowser Tower"
- Crosswords Plus "100%"
- The sequel to Crosswords DS. Probably unlikely for this to happen though, as some unlocks are based on play time (up to 3 days).
Webgames
- Anbot
- Point-and-click adventure game.
- Anbot 2
- Bloons 2
- Bloons 2: Christmas Expansion
- Bloons 2: Spring Fling
- Give Up
- Ninja Bear
- Obey the Game
- This Is The Only Level 4
PC/Linux
I don't know if all of these are compatible with TASing, but I figured I'd list them off anyway.
- Crosscells
- Dub Dash "100%"
- Geometry Dash "1-22"
- A good way to showcase some really hard skips and probably has "ends input early" potential.
- Hexcells
- Hexcells Infinite
- Hexcells Plus
- Pictopix
- ShapeGrid
- Squarecells
Misc
- C64 Short Circuit
- ZXSpectrum Short Circuit
- ZXSpectrum Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends
- NES Blades of Steel
- Peak hockey game.
- SNES Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends
- GBC Kikansha Thomas: Sodor-tou no Nakamatachi
- PICO8 Grandmaster Checkers
