The Pokemon Ruby Destiny is a series of game hacks of the 3rd-Generation main games. The first hack in the series Reign of Legends is set in the land of Gento. This hack has revisions to the routes/cities/etc. you know by heart, with some newly made ones. The early placements of trainers and such are pretty much the same as the non-hacked original game. Nice to have the addition of 4th-Generation Pokemon in the mix. New gyms and gym leaders with changes to the trainer data makes this a great experience. The second hack Rescue Rangers is inspired by the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. You do rescue missions, do some exploration, you get to meet more friends along the way. Has multiple endings, twists to the plot, close to 50 episodes, and a surprise attack after you beat the game. The third hack Life of Guardians is set in the land of Hevah. You'll be on a quest to save the world from the Dark Organization. There's not much to tell you about this game 'cause I never played it.

Reign of Legends would be hard to TAS due to all the Dark Lugia fights (I'd love to see someone underleveled beat that first one... and the second one... and the one at level 99.) Rescue Rangers would be an interesting run, but a VERY limited pokemon choice would annoy people trying to make a route to no end. Life of Guardians is unfinished. Out of the question.

We'll have to wait for Life of Guardians to be finished in order for it to be TAS-able. in Rescue Rangers Start with text to FAST and battle scene OFF and battle style SHIFT (or SET if you want to take chances). Train the Pikachu to like Level 7, raise Chikorita's level to 8. Pikachu is useless against Manectric. Use Chikorita's Razor Leaf. To use Focus Energy or not to use Focus Energy. That is the question when fighting Absol. Pikachu's Thundershock is most effective against Gengar. Static is very helpful indeed. Use Chikorita's Razor Leaf against Regirock. Change battle style to SET right before the battle with team Greenleaf. Raise Torchic to Level 10 and use Ember against team Greenleaf. Use Pikachu to zap Aerodactyl. Pikachu and Torchic vs 6 Scyther. You don't get running ability until the race. Use Torchic against the Ice Tauros. Use Dratini's Thunder Wave and Twister against Rayquaza. Use Toxic on Angeallen to wear him down. Fight Celebi if you want more XP. The training stages are repetitive, but definitely get the Light Ball. After you complete the Shaymin mission, go see Groudon. He'll make a great addition to the team. Only if there are Repel in this hack, I would catch a Level 60 Pokemon at the tower of fate, and use a rare candy on it and put it on the lead to avoid encounters.

I never played the hacks before, but can battles be mainipulated away just like in the PKMN Sapphire run?

Remember, those last battles are legendary pokemon at REALLY high levels. I had a fully evolved team in the 60s (Of the origanal 6 I kept Espeon, Swellow, and Dragonite, I got the Shaymin, a Marshtomp/Swampert, and I don't remember the last one...), and struggled. A LOT.

Silk Scarfed Chikorita can defeat Manectric even without Razor Leaf. 3 critical hits from tackle raises Chikorita's level from 6 to 8. Level 5 Pikachu can defeat Gengar. 2 critical hits and paralyze. Fighting wild Pokemon is necessary to raise level. Focus Energy increases chance for critical hits. A remake/sequel is in the works, it puts in a twist to the plot, including another character and another story. As for Reign of Legends, the Pokemon's cries can be changed to match with the 4th gen Pokemon.

When you say inspired by Mystery Dungeon do you mean just as far as plot/storyline, or is the gameplay actually like that of mystery dungeon (Roguelike)?
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before :P

I just discovered a new glitch. In Rescue Rangers, After getting Mark (Taillow) on your team, returning back home from a long trip. But hold down the down arrow to skip the cutscene where you return home, but the only drawback is you won't get Rose (Espeon) on your team until much later in the game.

Any progress so far? Battles can be manipulated. I don't have any runs made yet. I recommend doing Rescue Rangers.
