Game objectives

  • Emulator used: VBA22
  • Aims to obesolete another submission of this game
  • Sacrifices "Perfect" shots for the sake of speed.
  • 101.9% Accruacy

Comments

The main improvement comes from skipping the credits, using 2 bullets to kill 4 people, and killing the flare man before he shoots those laggy flares.

Other comments

Several frames were saved mysteriously from the absence of lag.

adelikat: Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.

Wow, I was totally not expecting this run. This was pretty awesome. I like mmbossman's style a little bit more, but this run was still entertaining, and it's surprising how much faster it is. I'm not crazy about shooting an innocent person, but in the name of time I guess it makes sense. Yes vote. Out of question, though, for almost all the bosses, you're in just about the right place to shoot them right away, EXCEPT for the first one. Why is that?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

There were 4 imperfect shots. 1 shot was so that I could shot 2 people at once. 2 were because a headshot would waste a couple or more frames. The last one occurs because I shot the president.

The game starts me at the middle of the screen at the start of the first boss, and sadly I can't do anything about it.

I'm encoding it. This time, it works. It's not like I'm encoding an SMS game.

There's no Dreamcast emulator ready for TASing yet.

Here it is. For the moment, it's only on Archive.org, but once you approve it, I will upload it to YouTube, Dailymotion and Viddler. http://ia360705.us.archive.org/4/items/GbaSilentScopeIn0341.98ByJlun2/SilentScope.mp4

Hi Epic - looks good. Can you rename the file to "silentscope-tas-jlun2.mp4" on archive.org?

Uh... How do you do that? I don't know how to access my file on Archive.org.

Go here: http://www.archive.org/details/GbaSilentScopeIn0341.98ByJlun2/ Select 'Edit item' on the left, select 'change the files', select the .mp4, and select 'File -> Rename'.

Feel free to rename the derived video files as well (to [...].ogv and [...]_512kb.mp4), and go ahead and upload the video to any streaming sites you wish.

It looks like you managed to overwrite your encode on archive.org with the derived _512kb.mp4. Can you reupload your encode to archive.org?

Your filename's slightly off for the _512kb - it should be _512kb, not _512k as present.
