I didn't quite understand if you mean that the speedruns are slow and sloppy (even by the standards of a human player), or if you were referring to something else (maybe video encoding quality?)
If you were referring to sloppy playing, then there are, indeed, some really egregious examples. For example, when I once checked the speedrun of the Playstation version of Driver, I was simply amazed at how poorly it was done. The player did not only drive poorly and sloppily, but he even several times stopped to look at the (fullscreen) map, several times in a short period of time, and many seconds at a time (ie. he opens the map, looks at it for like 5-10 seconds, then drives for about that much time, then opens the map again, and so on). The run was so horrid that I had to stop watching it after the first level. I don't really understand how such a run gets accepted by SDA.
The speedrun of the PC version saved the day, though, as it's of top quality.
The verification quality has been greatly tightened in the past couple of years. Look at SMRPG. Now look at any major RPG pretty much nowadays. What a change a few years (and a Mike Uyama) makes.
Hell, it's almost TOO tight now. GTA4 got rejected for an estimated 4-6 minutes of errors in a 4.5 HOUR run. Luckily, it's back in verification again. And let's not go into the Twisted Metal 2 controversy...
Well, any site that thinks Tiki767 or whatever is a legit, non-TASing person is actually just as bad as ScoreHero.
Sure, just as long as you ignore the videos he's posted proving he's a fast button masher.
And Satoryu's shield dashing must also be fake - that's TOO FAST!
And Freddy's Contra runs are fake too.
As is...
Yeah, and by the way...this message is for you.

Any idea when will they finally implement sorting the game list by publication date (of the speedrun, not the game)? I asked this question on the SDA forum something like 4 years ago and the reply was something along the lines of it being on the works. The site is still identical. It's really annoying having to go through the entire list every time I want to see if there's a new speedrun of something I might want to watch.
Iirc, they still haven't implemented proper database backend, so a lot of the stuff has to be done manually and not all data can be pulled conveniently.

DJGranola has been working on SDA2.0 for a while, but I have no idea when he'll get it up...if ever. I know there was a sampler thread in the SDA Discussion forum some time back that uses a better database system, but I can't remember what was there for sorting.
@moozooh: No, he isn't. I'm sick of saying this, but the innocent don't need to act guilty when accused of something. If you act guilty and defensive, obviously you are not legit. Also, the videos can easily be sped up, it takes like five minutes for an ameteur to do that. He also finds that in Megaman games, pressing back to shoot something behind you mid-air really fast then going back forward is "impossible, has to be TASed, etc". Truth be told, I've no idea how to make a TAS.
@Sir VG: See what I said above.
When I say "in person", I mean you can go there and see him play in front of you like he does on the videos. It has been done. Shame that you're still in denial.

The people that praise him are laughable. You want me to go see him live? Pay for my plane ticket or shut up.
Worse than the Danny Johnson fans, except he was proven to be talented with faulty controllers.

This is your warning to drop the attitude.
(Note: I could have quoted any of your posts as every single one seems to be negative, rude & insulting to someone.)
How about you do a better unassisted run then? Clearly he's not up to your standards of playing unassisted, so you should show him who's the boss.
I have, and he made false accusations about it and was starting daily flame wars on my videos.
@adelikat: Truth is suddenly bad or something? If people want me to go see someone play live, why should I pay for it if you want me to go?

"Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact."
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself.
It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the
kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional
functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success."

moozooh: Not true about seeing him 'live', Tiki wasn't at the marathon, he streamed from his home because he wasn't able to get there.
However, he does livestreams of his speedrun attempts regularly and it's pretty obvious he's legit. His current speedrun MMX any% has the voicecommentary that he recorded while streaming the attempt which I know for a fact was done while he was doing the run because I was there for it. This DevilSpree dude is just envious or something.
Also if you need first hand proof for every single one of your doubts to be satisfied like you're implying with the "buy me a ticket or stfu" comments, then that's a little bit sad.
