feel free to post if you have any strategies, but I think we got that covered

You do? I thought you were stuck about how you didn't know which CO's to use and which skills would be good, and how to manage your points?

it's just that we don't need to plan that yet (I'm still on C1 and actually have to reTAS it because of the reason mentioned above), so for now we have no idea, but we should be able to plan it out when the time comes when I say we I mean me and the AW experts at the WWN website

STL had a new idea for TS M5, using Sensei, so I TAS'd it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qz8_pJYDRa0 542 frames http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/851355443/M5%20Sensei%20resync.dsm this is the input file with an initial sync fix by Grunt, but it actually still desyncs and requires a cheat to keep alive the APC after the first 2 attacks, it also requires TAG cheats and map skip but only after the M2 (yeah I messed up on this one) also showcases a new trick: cursor manipulation, it's possible to change the cursor's position after AI's turn by glitching it the way I do turns out he's 1 frame slower than Sami, and I thought I could finally get 8 seconds :(

TS M4 Lake Fever 6" (395 frames) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUZ1LOuG20o input file: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1312214978/M4.dsm much easier and quicker to play now, I removed all the first map with cheats part also found yet another mistake I was making, waiting 1 frame when ending day when it's not necessary, so M5 is 8" +58 frames with Sami and 1 frame more with Sensei I'll TAS 8" later

Time Survival Lake Fever in 5 seconds (355 frames) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in5zP-C91BA http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/859837626/M4.dsm this one required almost a month of tests trying to crack the RNG, those 4 attacks are 71% - 85% - 78% - 78% with 30 luck, you can guess how hard it is to get all the kills in a row without losing a single frame for humans this strategy is impossible, Colin+Kindle are the best

M6 The Middleman 5" (332 frames) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw53FFIbQcc requires 3/4 attacks at least 28% out of 29% max luck, even harder than Lake Fever but it's no problem for me and my partner the sequence I used was 28% - 28% - 26% - 28% http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1357233763/M6.dsm 10 rerecords and 4 minutes to make, I'm getting used to TAS this game standalone records table:
  Map TAS Human(+)
   1 2 2
   2 6 3
   3 13 4
   4 5 4
   5 8 2
   6 5 5
   7 10 2
   8 8 6
  10 10 2

M7 Stealth Fight 10" 614 frames http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJk0mitj5lU 2" improvement over human record, strategy might be improvable but I can't think of anything else http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/435936041/M7.dsm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUes7Bt_KNc http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/446142832/M8.dsm M8 in 506 frames, the boring Silos map there probably is a faster strategy but it requires annoying luck manipulation

I wanted to check differences between ROMs, and to research that I've hexed my M6.dsm to (almost) synch with JP ROM: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1655783369/M6.dsm still requires OHKO cheat because the lag being different, the RNG also is, and I forgot how that formula works so I can't hex around it HP address is 1A14A8 changes that came up: 1. JP ROM seems to be much faster at starting the game and has less lag in general, making me have to add in a lot of blank frames 2. JP's Grit's COP takes more time, probably due to the longer name, this doesn't affect the final in-game time because the game is smart enough not to count this screen 3. for some weird reason, JP ROM has 1 frame of lag less compared to US's right after attacking the first Neo I might do the Campaign TAS using JP ROM, seeing as it apparently has less lag this is all on DeSmuME's v.0.9.6 though, but I think it holds true for 0.9.7 too

M6 synch on JP ROM without cheats now: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1063998005/M6.dsm the input file is 15 frames longer due to Grit's COP being something like 20 frames longer than on US version (5 or so frames of less lag saved) so I think this means there are no changes in the RNG in the JP version

The judge in charge then would tell that you chose the wrong version of the game and might try to reject the submission for that reason. You should instead tell everyone that the JP ROM has superior music/graphics, higher difficulty and/or tricks only available in this version.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

loololololololo I read in the rules or wherever that less lag is a good reason to use JP ROM it does have different graphics but just some menus which are prettier there is a glitch only possible in JP version, but I don't think it'd help in a Campaign TAS going for real-time lag affects the RNG in this game so having less lag also means different RNG manipulation, but that's kind of impossible to calculate if it's better or not

I’ll probably be making a Time Survival TAS soon, and I’ll have to start from SRAM… is there anyone who can create a movie of getting Jugger and Sami to lvl10 so the SRAM is proven and can be accepted for the TAS?

This request is still valid! Throw in Koal, too. (US ver.) Brainstorming Time Survival Basic with my partner again, came up with 2 TASes: M1 3″ with 5 Mech attacks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1jg_HxoNEI M4 6″ without requiring Soul of Hachi + SCOP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcQrx24HjQU

Me and my partner are creating a TASBot for this game, so… During a botting mishap, our bot found a way to softlock the game. I recreate it on a real DS in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1Qkyvg0Sz4

This night I came up with a cool strategy to get M6 in 5 seconds (which means under 360 frames) without the need of a CO Power. Link to video Extracts from our chat: [2:46:44] Julian: 364 frames meh [2:47:11] ALAKTORN: what’s that [2:47:27] Julian: Grit, no cannon guard, no powers […] [3:46:31] ALAKTORN: 5″ seems impossible […] [3:49:53] ALAKTORN: I found a strat that works and is different than yours [3:51:16] ALAKTORN: I think I just saved 4 frames LOL [3:51:32] ALAKTORN: dude just 1 more frame LOL fuck […] [4:16:37] ALAKTORN: that’s pretty fucking sad 1 frame [4:17:26] ALAKTORN: save a frame Julian [4:17:40] Julian: I cant D: […] I have an epiphany: [4:19:33] ALAKTORN: why is this so sad [4:19:46] ALAKTORN: wait a second [4:19:51] ALAKTORN: maybe we can save 1 frame with targeting [4:19:57] ALAKTORN: is there no Arty position that saves? [4:20:19] Julian: only S in front of cannons [4:20:22] Julian: no even not there [4:20:26] Julian: Grit has too much range [4:20:36] ALAKTORN: S in front works [4:20:52] ALAKTORN: hey [4:20:53] ALAKTORN: hey [4:20:55] ALAKTORN: nigger [4:20:58] ALAKTORN: hey [4:21:03] Julian: isnt that crystal then? [4:21:03] ALAKTORN: NE Arty [4:21:07] ALAKTORN: nigger [4:21:09] ALAKTORN: NE Arty [4:21:12] ALAKTORN: doesn’t need targeting [4:21:16] ALAKTORN: in the botted strat [4:21:19] Julian: :O [4:21:21] Julian: yeah [4:21:24] ALAKTORN: SAVE THE FRAME [4:21:25] Julian: topleft is default? [4:21:27] ALAKTORN: yes [4:21:31] ALAKTORN: SAVE THE FRAME All along my strategy was 359 frames but it took me 30 minutes to notice that we were wasting 1 frame to target a unit for an attack that wasn’t necessary (that unit is the default target so you don’t need to target it manually). lol

If anyone could find a way to improve this by 5 frames it’d be great. Link to video Just know that ending a turn later is out of the question, each square of movement costs 4 frames but each time you move a unit it costs 8, so moving less with more units isn’t always better. 7+7HP 2HKO Neos is impossible, likewise 7+4HP 2HKO Mechs is impossible. Edit: oh breaking the cannons is pointless, too.

We’re kind of 7 maps in (out of 11) for the Time Survival TAS by the way.
