Sooo, Yeah. I guess due to VanillaCoke's insane progress on Sonic Colours, I got inspired to do a little bit more of Sonic Rush Adventure.
Some of Wave Cyclone
Im trying not to loose too much speed while still making it somewhat interesting. What do you guys think?
I got a desync after the "tutorial stage" was over but before the cyclone section. I'm using 1444 - Sonic Rush Adventure (U), so maybe that's causing the desync.
I wish the airdash could be used while boosting in colors ;_;. The speed difference is insane! Also, I'm glad my run inspired you to pick this back up ^_^.
It only syncs for me if I set Config > Save Type to EEPROM 4kbit. Otherwise saving the game before the wave cyclone takes 1 frame longer and throws the movie out of sync. Sonikkustar, if you have that set to 4kbit, maybe you should change it back to AutoDetect to reduce desync problems other people get. If you insert 1 frame in the movie where it's saving (like this) the movie should sync with more normal settings.
That option doesnt seem to be on my version of desmume.
EDIT: Just saw a new release of desmume. I'll continue TASing with that version.
EDIT 2: Nevermind, It doesnt even go past the title screen.
Anywho, Ive improved the Training Stage by a few frames using a new Boosting strat. Not only should this give more distance, but it will also save some boosting power overtime.
New Training Stage
I also managed to manipulate the treasure chest at the end so that it stops spinning uch earlier. This adds up to a total improvement of 49 frames.

So heres Version 1 of Plant Kingdom. Im just trying to get the general route down.
I havent checked if this is faster than the TSC record yet, so expect things to change.
Human Record is 0:38:42 by 49INFINITY. I'll watch it more indepth later to suggest changes. I've only got one suggestion/question that pops into my head.
Why take the whole rail and jump into the trick rings at the beginning? On the map, it seems like it'd be much faster to Jump straight from the first curve on that rail (and in my experience, trick rings are never worth it) to the top path. From the Top path, jump on the top of the loop.

This depends however. You need to get S ranks consistently to get enough materials to make better crafts. However i'm sure the TAS can get Emerald 7 from just the first level Wave Cyclone. Then you'd have to consider getting the Sol Emerald missions by visiting certain Hidden Islands. I forget exactly, but i can find out if needed. Deep Core would be nice to see TASed, and due to it's random chance, would be great to see perfect (do note, that my best time was obtained after a single retry, so restarting the level doesn't necessarily make it easier.)
Also maps, right. They can be found here. Be mindful that no trick rings/springs and badniks are in the maps yet, and may not be for a long time.
PK1 was not bad to see. Seemed pretty fast, and definitely beat 49infinity (which is a very good acheivement to do :P) Do remember that SRA's online charts -can- be viewed on the official site, so don't just use TSC as the only reference. There are a lot of great TAers that aren't on TSC just yet :P
Someone on the official website got 29 seconds on PK1 O_O.
At first I wondered how creditable some of those times are. However, the top 4 times are all by different people whom are within a second or less of each other. So the odds are really good that they're legit.
I actually tried doing that, but I wont have enough speed when I land. That is untill I found out I needed to have boost power while in the air. So that might change.
About the 29 second record, Unless there is video proof, I am not going to believe that for a second.
That's why I'm content with Sonic Colors. I'm doing my very best on it, but really there is no "real" way to compare my times to leaderboards or TSC. I don't have everything (wisps) available to me during the run since it's the first time through each zone. Times on the leaderboards and TSC are with all the wisps available and used them.
Cept bosses.
