Ok, I'll look into it. Thanks for the information. Now, I'll ask your opinion about few things in OoA... 1) Should I play the linked game or the normal? In linked game there is a lot of extra story, 4th heart container in the beginning, and a shield in the beginning. I can also use passwords to get a sword upgrade and the red ring for 4x damage 2) Should I get the Noble sword (Master sword in the linked game) or should I just ignore it? It takes a long trading sequence to get it, so I personally think it it not worth it.

If it makes the story better, maybe... But if it makes the game easier, then I'm not so sure. (Sorry, I've never played these games.)

You should use the passwords in this game, then redo OoS with the passwords from this game :P Only joking, I would prefer one without passwords personally.

I checked and diagonal movement really is slower. Still not sure about the reset thing, I might as well trust nitsuja. I just need to find out how soon the reset can be pushed with the data saved. Linked game only makes the game easier by giving me more items (with most of them useless on a speed run, maybe some item apart from the sword upgrade can make the run faster (Bombchus maybe?), no idea). The story changes are mostly some minor dialog changes, some different NPCs in some places, a total new dungeon which takes too much time even if the prize would be useful and the Room of Rites with Twinrova and Ganon waiting to be killed. And Zelda also appears, mostly wasting time. I'd personally rather do the linked game than the normal, as it would finish the story and raise the damage I do, resulting in faster time. But if the audience wants the normal game, I'll do it. I'll probably start the run in sunday, I'm not sure which game I'll do and Saturday I'm too busy with life. Today probably is wasted for either planning or personal things.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a linked run (no pun intended) but I just prefer the idea of a start from new run. If you have the patience, do both. Or I might do it myself after you've done it. Who knows :P

I think the non-linked run should be done first. It will be easier to plan, anyways. The linked run would be easier to plan once this is done, too. Edit: actually, I think the 'linked' run should just be one game started with an optimal password for each game. Use it to get rings you didn't bother to get in the original run and such.

i would rather see a non-linked run also. A linked run would be interesting but would require a lot more planning and be a lot longer for you to make since its two games instead of one. I think it would be easier for you to make non-linked 1st if you plan on making both because you will learn the paths for OoA and you already know those for OoS so you would only have to change your path accordingly to what you need on a linked game and it would be a lot easier

The only things I would need to do in OoS is to get the ring secret, the secret to labrynna (is that its name?) which is gotten after defeating the game and the secrets for getting the sword upgrade and other possible upgrades. All of them can be done after defeating the game (well, the ring secret... I don't know when the earliest time it can be gotten is). Well, it's a mute point now as it is clear there are more people wanting the non-linked game. The planning of the path for OoA is little harder, as I have to think where I can travel throught time before the tune of currents and tune of ages. Like visiting some house in the Lynna City after the first dungeon so I can save&reset to get to Nayru's house fast after the forest scene. Or maybe just straigh visit Nayru's house (somewhat far away from the straight path to the forest), I have to check which is fastest. And I need to collide with Maple to get the potion fast the king zora. And as there is no input about the Noble's sword, I won't get it. I'll probably start the run tomorrow morning (it's about 10:30 pm here) so expect something tomorrow.

I seem to recall the Noble Sword being more complicated to get in Ages than it was in Seasons. I think it required a lot more running around and fetch quests to get, where in Seasons you just needed to do the forest puzzle correctly, and it was on your route. It's probably best to skip it.

Yes, you have to do the trading sequence and then go to the patch's house to fix the broken sword. Takes really long time. First dungeon done. I picked 10 rupees (and few by "accident") as I need money for all those minigames. The order of the 2 switches in a room in the dungeon doesn't matter, the platform is still there where it shouldn't be :(. Second dungeon done. I had to "visit" the Black tower to manipulate Maple into giving me her potion. Better hope I won't waste it during the game. I almost did that already, thank god I noticed it. This game seems to take longer than OoS (with all the time travel and evil puzzles). I took the heart container because it was the fastest one to get and it might be useful. More hp to sacrifice for speed, at least. Good timing with bombs kills the second boss kinda fast and the miniboss is just waiting. I hope someone watches and comments the run so I don't have to redo the whole run if I make a more-or-less obvious mistake.

Third dungeon done. The video is almost an hour long already... The Tokey (tokay?) Island is annoying so I didn't really have any reason in doing this fast. And I had to redo the whole island once thanks to a mistake ._. Third dungeon is pretty much walking in circles, thanks to the spinning wheel-thingie. I took the heart container once again, it refills hearts really fast and gives more energy to spend. Bosses are nothing special.

The latest movie desyncs in the second dungeon. In the room where you were supposedly getting the first key, Link throws the bomb too early ,swings his sword at air, then saves and quits before getting any key. It all goes downhill from there. Not sure what's causing it. I have one question though, before you make the brief detour nito the Black Tower to get Maple to drop the potion, it looks like you didn't walk straight down into it. IE: It looks like you were going to take the west exit, then turn around and go into the Black Tower. It would have been faster to walk straight down into it, or was the brief delay in turning around also to manipulate Maple?

Some thoughts. First, in this game moving against the wall daigonally does slow you down, unlike LttP. You can kill the first boss in one pass if you throw the head away and kill the spirit with your sword. Also, if you push the triforce block the other way Impa won't shy away from it. And there are numerous other minor optimizations you can make. But I'm assuming this is a test run, so I'll keep my mouth shut. It's probably faster to mow multiple bushes by poking them. I also get the desync. But I think I may be using a different ROM... I say this solely because the puzzle with the cube is a different color than I remember it being. I remember blue, but in the ROM I have it's red....

Great, now it desynced here too. Oh crap... It desynced with me once in the first dungeon too, had to remake it. And now I have to do the tokay island third time... If it desyncs once more then I'm gonna stop, it's totally not fun to do a long game which desyncs all the time. The block puzzle in the beginning of 2nd dungeon is red with me too. ...okay, I checked. It desyncs even in the 2nd-dungeon-done video. Why haven't I noticed this before... I at least check every dungeon even if I don't check everything between them.

Okay, I started redoing the OoS run. I cleared the second dungeon and it is about half minute faster. I can't put the video to the internet now ._. Time is saved by reducing useless diagonal walk (a surprise), reduced killing of bats, setting bombs better to get throught many places faster and getting the first heart container and taking more damage in second dungeon. I have enought money for the boxing match. I hope I can save enought time for <2h run

If you get the Roc Feather in OoS like you do in OoA, then you can keep moving through Bushes (max without pausing is one every other square) and (of course) hit enemies without stopping.

Well, the only difference really is the hard reset. And the random desyncs were around the hard resets, so I think it might have some effect.

try to make a movie just record and do hard resets and make one with soft reset if there will be a difference in desynchs, if its the reason for the desynchs you can just write it in your commentaries, not your fault anyways
