Actually, this was not the case. I knew the movie could be improved but didn't want it submitted, but my brother went ahead and did so anyway; I just wasn't around to object. As it turned out, though, people liked it and it got accepted. Why wasn't this a big deal back then?
Woah, that's news to us. I think everyone assumed it was with your consent back then.
Well, it may not have been with my consent, but I'm not bitter about it. People liked it, so why complain too much?

So who's going to submit Glitchman's megaman run for him? It beats the published run by 30 seconds, IIRC.
Sure, I'll do it. Let me ask first.
So we have a policy to accept whatever version beats the current TAS? This sure won't drive people to go that extra mile and get it as perfect as possible. I especially think it a horrible idea considering that Glitchman plans on making a lot better version, both more optimized and with more new strategies. Publishing it would only take away some of the awesomeness the final movie has to offer. I state again, posting a wip/testrun on the forum is not the same as submitting a run... sure, it can both be seen by everyone, but posting it at a regular topic in the forum and not as a submission is done for a reason. Although I think even asking is a bad idea, at least you are asking first. If you ask, hopefully you will wait for an answer first. If we allow people submitting TASes without the author's consent, we shouldn't be against people making a site of their own and posting all of the content here also. I personally wouldn't like it at all if someone took my TASes and posted them on their site without asking me.
Oh? It is a WIP? I didn't know that, why didn't you mention it mmbossman? I'll PM Glitchman it was a mistake.
If this isn't sarcasm, this proves my point quite nicely. Without communication, you don't know what is going on with a movie file. Consent should be acquired beforehand to avoid things like this.

Except consent is not the same as asking what is going on with a movie. Meaning "Can I submit this for you?" is not the same as "Is this a WIP movie?"

Let's just vote no on any submission not submitted by the author themselves. Btw, am I correct in assuming that we don't have a single female author on this site?

We've had a few reportedly female users, but I don't think any of them have movies published.

I see this as a bad idea since the votes are suppose to cut towards how good the movie is, not that because someone else submit it. Though, I might need to rethink this.

I believe the author of this TAS is female.

Good to know. (I wonder if we have any other "hidden" females among us…)

No, he was telling us that we all have to go to the TASVideos cafeteria for some free mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Boco is most likely male, judging from Boco's live journal.

As the local TASVideos furry I agree with this statement.

Another of you guys comes out of the woodwork. There's about 3 or 4 of you now!

Oh, don't act so surprised, it has been in my profile for a while now. =P
Apparently I am a furry, but this was actually brought on by some friends saying I was and it kind of stuck on from there. No, I don't own a fursuit, stop asking.
But yeah, I'm surprised I'm not the only one, if your 3-4 statement is correct.

Sorry, I don't check user profiles that often. But come now, I've had a number of people think I'm a furry, and yet I'm not one. ;P As for other users, they seem to be inactive right now. Haven't seen AnotherGamer or DonamerDragon around for a while. So I guess you're the only active one. ...And with that I think we've derailed the topic.

I never accused you of being furry, trust me, I know enough people with misleading (for a lack of better term) names. Anyway, I blame Kuwaga for mentioning females on TASVideos. Now lets go back to what the last sensible statement in this topic was...

Regarding other authors' movies submitted; the very first submission on this site was Morimoto's SMB3 ― and he sure did not submit it. (The first one published was Morimoto's Mega Man 2. Same dilemma.)

And may I thank you kindly for doing so. The WMV for that one looked pretty bad.

1) Group project, adelikat did all the work from level 2 on. 2) It would surprise me quite a bot if adelikat hadn't asked JXQ if he (adelikat) could finish the movie, however given his responses in this thread, I cannot be positive.
