The Angry Video Game Nerd is well known on this site, but has anyone seen The Nostalgia Critics videos? He basically does what AVGN does except for Movies and Tv shows. Personally having watched most of his videos I think he's better overall than AVGN. All his videos can be found here

I've seen most of his reviews (all of them, even?) and I enjoy them about equally compared to the AVGN. Sadly, though, the latter sometimes overdoes the whole swearing thing where former stays at a reasonable level.

I've seen the majority of those videos as well; Doug Walker is a very enjoyable person to watch, and the Nostalgia Critic is my favorite of his characters. I especially like the bit towards the end of North. "YOU ACTUALLY WENT TO THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR AND MADE IT ALL A DREAM!? YOU ASS OF SHIT!"

I first heard from him through AVGN about a year ago, maybe... At first I found him annoying, but maybe I was taking him a bit too seriously. Now I'd say I enjoy his Nostalgia Critic character even more than AVGN, and his videos last like 20 mins, and they come once a week! :D I always lol at some point in each of his videos, but I really couldn't stop laughing at the Mortal Ballet montage. See the Mortal Kombat : Annihilation review if you haven't already!!

In my opinion The Nostalgia Critic is superior to the AVGN (whose work I still do enjoy quite a bit though). Partly because he makes videos more often (once a week), partly because I can often relate more to his work and overall I just think he does his whole act better (and doesn't overdo stuff as often). The site as a whole hosts a lot of other good stuff as well, like The Spoony One, who is probably me favorite "internet critic" (he has his own site too though).

I have watched all the Critic's reviews and I'm an avid follower. (I check the site almost every day to see if a new video has come out.) Like others, while I like the AVGN videos a lot, I have to admit that the Critic is maybe a bit better. His one video game review was quite enjoyable. (Somehow he succeeds in making the reviews interesting even though they are very long, often over 10 minutes.)

I'm a fan of both Nerd and Critic, especially the "rivalry" between the two. Everybody go and watch the 1-year brawl right now, especially if you're familiar with most of the characters on TGWTG, because it is quite possibly the pinnacle of human cinematography =P

The Nostalgia Chick is funnier. IMO
I make a comic with no image files and you should read it. While there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free. -Eugene Debs

That's not an opinion though...

While I tend to enjoy most of these nerdy critic guys, I don't really watch any of them consistently. I used to watch Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation), but his rather coarse humor eventually got on my nerves (the same reason I don't watch AVGN) and he seemed to be rehashing many of the same points most of the time. The only reviewer I do watch nowadays is the HVGN (though he never seems to be able to produce videos on any consistent basis). He may not be as "entertaining" as the others, but I find that his general informativeness balances it out. He's basically like HG101 in video form.

Then I warmly recommend the Nostalgia Critic reviews, if you haven't seen them. They are not based on foul language (although sometimes a bit might be used).

Btw, some of you might be interested in the Atop The 4th Wall reviews. What the AVGN is to videogames and the Nostalgia Critic is to classic movies/tv-shows, Linkara is to comics. The reviews are actually quite good, IMO. Unrelated, but still on the same website: this is one of the funniest sketches I have seen in a while.
