I run the movie and it goes straight into a test screen and gets stuck. Darn. I'll have to get my brother to check this out; he may have better luck and made the TAS you linked to.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Where can I find a version of FBA that supports this video? The only one I can find that loads it is 0.3 and it desynchs this video halfway through. 0.24.94.98 doesn't seem to load FBM files, nor does it even appear to support this game.

This run isn't directly comparable to the PS2 run, for anyone interested. There are differences in Knockdown and invc times that changes how the run functions. There are a couple things that are faster in the PS2 version, but I'm wondering if (and assuming it doesn't) translate to a faster TAS. I look forward to the PS2 version of this being TASed, though... As for the run itself, it seems really really tightly refined. kudos.

Now, when you say "PS2 version", do you mean this or this?

That was fun. Some things:
*The ROM says "SAMPLE," but this was the closest thing to USA release, and it's fully functional, so it was the right choice. *Too bad it desyncs on fbarr-003. This will happen a lot because the MAME core is always improving. *It was not set to hardest difficulty. (None of the arcade submissions on the bench did this, but I'll only mention it here.) *This was the "Megaman 1~2" course. This game (and its sequel) have three courses, each with different enemies. *This game really wants to be played with two players. *I think stopping before finishing the final boss was a bad stylistic choice, even though you win either way.
Takes no damage when I tas it and Takes damage when I stop tas
It gets hit but doesn't actually take damage.

Thanks Dammit, I'll upload it as soon as I can. Two uploads in one day, I believe it is a record. Edit: Why does that come out as an insult? Edit 2: Uploaded! Enjoy TASlike goodness!

The run was perfect until the end. Ending the movie before the final Wily mode end is strange, even with the game finishing anyway......

Interesting run until that point (I didn't know fire-ability was that nice, e'en when no weakness involved). [Meh.]

I liked it but I think it would have been more entertaining if you killed wily

Looks precise, but a bad game choice, IMO. It's kinda like a regular Mega Man game, but with all the glitchy platforming removed, leaving the re-fights and Wily. Voted Meh.

Yeah, people go overboard with the "Shortest time to no more input" goal. I want to see EVERY boss have one weapon rapidly spammed into it! Hmm, a single playthrough is pretty short; maybe there should be a run that goes through all three modes. And definitely two-player, for variety, even if the second player turns out to be mostly useless.

agreed on both counts. ending before killing Wily is a terrible choice. and doing all three routes would still be very fast. a "no" from me.

The fights are more trivial than the boss battles from the regular games. The bosses have too little HP and don't do anything. I have to vote 'no'.

Voting no because the SDA record for this run is a minute faster. I love arcade runs, but after watching this run and then two SDA runs immediately afterwards... it's not that exciting.

SDA uses the game's timer. this run uses real time. and it's half the length of the SDA run, both in real time and game time.

I stand corrected. Why can't people use real time everywhere. It makes me ultra confused. Also, I understand the goal in this movie is to beat it in as few frames as possible, but that makes the end of this movie super sloppy looking. I'd much rather see Dr. Wily destroyed at the expense of a few frames.

Ending was a bad choice. I assume you could kill him faster by actually kililng him even though the input would be longer. I'm not always against ending sooner at the expense of game completion (I've even done it in a few of my runs) but in this case it looks really bad. Up until the last battle I was in the "meh" range leaning towards a weak yes.

Well, would be better than 3 different runs to cover all the routes. and maybe using all the avaliable characters.
