is anyone else getting random freezing and/or crashing when try to save or load a state in windows vista? it's getting really annoying because I've lost a great amount of progress due to this error. it also sometimes happens when I try to save the game normally (via the game's save feature, I'm playing pokemon emerald) the version I'm using is vba-rerecording-20. I've never experienced this before, and my new laptop is relatively new, so I got to thinking that maybe Vista has something to do with it. Then again upon taking a closer look at the website it says that v20 has some bugs...so maybe it's a problem with the emulator? =/ EDIT: happens on v19.3 too >_> and with several different roms.

What makes you think Vista is the issue?

no idea, actually, I've just had a hell of a time with it so far >_> I haven't had this error on XP, as far as I can remember, but I can't blame vista completely, what else could be causing it though?

no I'm not running it as administrator, should I be? The program is stored on my 300GB portable HDD

just try it, if it saves when run as an admin , then yes, you do need to ;)

well, saving works without running as admin, it's just that every once in a while (some times more often than others) trying to save or load a state can sometimes make the emulator hang, and the sound starts skipping. I'll try running it as admin and see if it happens less often, or not at all. I'll edit this post with results later.
