OK, driving version it is. Also, I'm on mission 6. While it would be quite a bit faster to not get a maxed wanted level on this mission, this will be the only mission in the entire game where I would not have the maximum possible wanted level. Some other missions require you to eliminate your wanted level, but using the Pay 'N Spray on those is faster than collecting police bribes. Should I only get a 2-star wanted level and go for a quick completion, or get the 4-star wanted level and use the Pay 'N Spray? The 4-star option will be a couple thousand frames slower, but I'll be able to have a maximum wanted level on every mission in the game, instead of all but 1. Tested, 1685 frames longer.

I don't think you should hem yourself in with goals other than fastest completion. It's interesting enough as it is, but one mission without maxing out the wanted level might provide some nice variety.

I'm currently working on redoing levels 6-9 for speed (no max wanted levels on missions 6 and 8). Random notes about the max wanted levels version: You cannot spray a police car, so I get out and manipulate a Banshee. On mission 8, I couldn't manipulate police officers to appear on the way to the crusher, so I manipulated a police car instead and rammed it, then killed the officers, giving me a 3-star wanted level (third had to be delayed a few frames so I'd get it.) I had to back up after ramming the police car, otherwise the second officer inside runs northwest someplace. Edit: I've found something that will greatly reduce my rerecord count, and the amount of time it'll take for this run to be complete. When text is up, I normally try A on every single frame until I find the one frame where the text will go away. The memory address 03007d4f (8bit unsigned) is 0 when a button can be pressed to remove the text, and 8 at any other time. Apparently if you move fast enough, water isn't lethal like in other games. Any comments/suggestions/ideas? EDIT: Portland Complete - 46% complete (19/41 missions complete) I estimate a total of around 2 hours for the entire game.

Sorry once again for yet another post in a row. The run is nearing completion, and will be done tomorrow since I only have one class. I got a lot of work done yesterday, since one of my teachers never showed up to teach us and all of my friends were in class. Waste of some tuition money, but oh well.

Hey. Thanks for the 10 year bump on a game with only showing the current RTA World Record instead of providing something that was more TAS content worthy. Such a worthy bump. Stop bumping threads with RTA runs when the thread is long dead. Bump it with TAS progress instead. Edit: And now he provides a silent edit to show a TAS from 2013. Kura. What about all your other stupid bumps (Like the 8 year bump on Blasto) for just showing a speedrun and not a TAS? You going to go fix that now, or you going to keep bumping with nothing useful?

The current RTA record is 1h55m and its using gameboy player which would have proper loading times. The outdated tas shown above has faster loading times and still slow. It doesnt even look tased. It reminds me of the quality of my outdated driver 2 tas from 2016. Ill consider picking this project up and making a carbon copy of the current rta record. Really hate having to go back to windows, but it needs to be done. Thats like the reason I havent been tasing.
