Morimoto and his friends are working on an improved version of the Rockman 2 timeattack movie.
It will be out within a month or so.
I'm very curious to see what they come up with.
From what I can understand, they have found something new to abuse at least in the Bubbleman level.

That sounds nice, but I'm hoping to see something really new from him. Frankly, I'd love see him do Bionic Commando, because I am just not that good at it. ^_^
I have a few movies made by him that I haven't published.
- Portopia (Not your typical platform game - more like Shadowgate, but not very much)
- Dragon Slayer (I don't have the ROM)
- Dragon Quest 2 (I haven't watched this yet)

Speaking of Morimoto, I tried to download FMV files direct from his site, but my computer can't understand Japanese-named files. How did you manage to view/rename them? Some kind of Windows plug-in? Or are you on a different OS?
I have tried the Dragon Quest 2 movie with "Dragon Quest 2 (J) [a1].nes" and "Dragon Quest 2 (J).nes" but both say "unknown opcode $FF at $FFFF".
Portopia works fine, but it is very boring to watch if you don't understand Japanese.
I don't have Dragon Slayer ROM.
Good for you. But please note that this forum is not a place to distribute ROMs.
The Dragon Quest 2 Video has Morimoto putting in passwords VERY fast to get all the best equipment in the game. He skips everything and goes to the last boss, defeats him, and it shows the ending.

While exploring yarukinasu I wandered into the BBS section and found this site:
http://one01.s6.xrea.com/rockindex.htm
There's a lot of Japanese, but the movie links are easy to spot. Take a look at some these tricks!
I wonder if Megaman 3, 4, 5, or 6 have these kinds of holes to exploit? Or does Rush not allow it?
That's Finalfighter's site.
He's the person who has done a lot of work exploring Rockman 2's glitches and those movies are the study material that will be used in the creation of the actual Rockman 2 timeattack, be it played by him or Morimoto or someone else.
--SPOILER--
These tricks base basically on one fact: If you get inside a wall, weird things will follow.
All of the Rockman / Mega Man games are based basically on the same engine, so if you find a way to put him inside a wall, you'll have access to at least these consequences:
- Ultrafast movement horizontally (usually only rightwards)
- Wrapping (access opposite edges of screen)
I'm already on my way in Rockman 1, but I've also been drooling over Mega Man 3..6.
So far I haven't found a way to do it in any of them.
But I still recommend the authors of those movies to explore ways to abuse the collision checks. It's usually a matter of ONE pixel position that will take you inside a wall/ceiling instead of dropping/bouncing.
Edit: 5: The fmv is no longer publicly available, deleted the link.

I have tried it. When you stand on the balloon, it goes down, not up. Thus it can't be used to shove Mega Man into the ceiling. Haven't verified how it acts for floor corners though.
I think wall-glitches of that sort can't be done in MM3 and later.
Notice how there's no way to get crush-killed in 1 and 2...and in 4, if you play around with the balloon adapter near the narrow passage with the E-tank at the end of the 3rd Cossack level, it's possible to crush-kill yourself with the balloon if you slide just right. o_O
I guess this is because they didn't think of the concept of getting instantly killed upon being crushed, so they didn't put in in the earlier games...but when they updated the movement engine (I refer to how, starting in MM3, the delays in Mega's starting/stopping walking are more pronounced), they gave it some more precise hit detection...
I have a hunch that if you can successfully get a similar wall glitch set up in MM3 or later, you'll end up dying instantly. Because the game, upon seeing you inside a wall, thinks you've been crushed... :p
EDIT: Hmm...actually, I just remembered those falling blocks in Spark Man's level in MM3 don't seem to be able to kill you outright, just damage you...though that may just be because they're sprites, dunno if they get changed to background tiles once they finish falling...
I know Megaman 1 and 2 are really bugged out, but 3-6 seem far from it. The ladder trick from MM2 doesn't work in 3, and rush can't get you into the walls like the items can. The only place in MM3 that I know of that you can go through walls is the blocks in Sparkman's stage, but there's no speed advantage in doing this. The only glitch I can think of is the one in Geminiman's level. If someone can find some ways to get in the walls of MM3, I'd gladly redo the whole video. The time attacks I want to do the most are really bugged out ones, like MM2 or Genisto's SMB2. They're great to watch.
On another note, I saw a glitch for warping to Wily's Castle L2 here:
http://kontek.net/davidwonn/nes.html#M
I was thinking that if you can get this trick to work, you can easily finish the game in under 15min. Just get across the spikes using the helicopter robots and go from there. I think this trick is a fake though. I haven't been able to get it working on the US or Jap version.
What exactly did you do when you got to Airman? I've went in there with all the weapons and items and tried everything.
I was thinking Morimoto can do:
-Bubbleman
-Heatman
-Clashman
-Airman(warp)
-Wily 2-6
Does he already know about that glitch, and is it going to be in his video?
Yeah, I've done the MM2 wall glitch too. Though instead of Airman, it always seems to happen to me at Heatman, and I get warped directly to the Wily 1 dragon fight, and die because I can't get out of the way before he teleports on top of me... :/

I don't remember the NES one, but in the game boy one, if you're directly under one, it'll kill you, and if you get hit by the edge of it when it's falling, you just take damage.

Megaman 3 doesn't have a ladder wrap glitch.
You can't grab a screen-top ladder from the bottom of the screen
- or you'll die or scroll instead.
you can't grab a screen-bottom ladder from the top of the screen
- maybe you just need to jump a lot higher than what you can do with Rush Jet.
Probably neither do the later ones, but it should be tested nevertheless.

Just an F.Y.I: New Woodman movie is up, complete stage. Very exciting.
Look for "新ウッドマンステージ攻略動画"
It's the first link beneath the screenshots of Woodman's stage.
