A video and a clip, maybe; a video and a movie, no. :)

I am sure that "movies" and "clips" would have deeper meanings than just a "video". If push come to shove, I might need to knock down the first line of the bottom box 1 point lower so "movie" can fit. Let me take a break for a moment, GFX are fun, lol...

Maybe you should just cut out the background entirely and shrink Mr. Meggerman until he fits into the corner.

A clip is generally thought of as a small segment out of a larger whole. So clip isn't the correct wording. As for video/movie, I've heard them used interchangeably, but movie tends to convey "entertainment" to me, while video tends to say "old school VHS". That may just be me though.

We normally rely on the H264 codec, right?
We use x264. Well, I use it, anyway.
There is quite some confusion here. H.264 is not a codec, it's a video format standard. x264 is a codec which can encode and decode the H.264 format. (It's one of many codecs which support the format in question.) We don't "use the H264 codec", we "use the H264 format". Also, effectively saying "I use x264, not H264" is wrong. You are creating H.264 videos when you use x264.
I never said "I don't use H264". I said "I use x264".

I have an idea, what if it's a close up of megaman, with his index finger pointing up and a ballon as if he was saying the message? It would emphasize better on the whole point of having megaman as the information boy. Look what I did using this amazing fanart from this guy (I would notify/ask him for permission if using it officially) on a side note...

In Mega Man X-3, Dr. Doppler called X a "Maverick" hunter. I thought that would ring a bell or two.

I've never really been a fan of making either the encoder or the logo creator a prominent feature of the logo, short of for their own pride. I can understand a small-sized inconspicuous encoder name in order to tell who encoded it (and as such ask questions about the specific process or problems with the encode) but the logo creator text really has limited usage. Just my opinion.
<adelikat> I am annoyed at my irc statements ending up in forums & sigs

I thought maybe you meant that was concept art from Maverick Hunter X, the remake of the first game.

As much as I have seen and played MM and MMX series, things got more confusing when they started creating a Maverick character, which threw me a little off guard.

Doesn't "Maverick Hunter" mean someone who hunts mavericks? or I'm missing something?

Or, it could just be a free thinking hunter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maverick

I'll call you "forum" from now on, because you're a forum poster, then, is that OK? (Maverick = Irregular = the enemies in the game.. X is part of a special police force called Irregular Hunters that deals with violent repliroid crime....)

The dimensions above are 256x 240 pixels, which I assume is often used when encoding most NES and probably SNES runs.
Well, the SNES can display 224 lines in NTSC mode, 239 in PAL mode. (Videos in the latter format could just center the logo.) And it gets stretched horizontally to a wider 4:3 resolution on the TV and on YouTube.

Hey, I know none of you have a clue who I am, I'll just say I'm a lurker/admirer. I really enjoy watching all of the videos here, and Im very impressed with the amount of work put into them. I myself would love to make a TAS, but I know I don't have the level of patience and dedication you guys have =|. I'd love to contribute something, anything. I saw a topic where somebody submitted video logos or whatever, I thought "hey I could do that!" 256x224 Just a logo idea: (incorporation) If you guys like these, I'd be happy to forward the .psd's to whoever. The original files for the video pages are 3x larger resolution.

I think they looked really good, especially the first one.

The same problem as earlier.

Nice work with the art, except for the following considerations: <....> 2) The message is wrong. The role of tasvideos.org is not to be "a download site", but that of a center of TAS-related information. I don't care where people download these TASes. In order words, though the URL is important, it is not there so that one can say "downloaded from". It is there so that one can "find more (information)" at that site. More information: http://tasvideos.org/EncoderGuidelines.html#Logo <...>
Also, I am merging this thread into the previous one, since the topic is exactly the same.

You can make the message whatever you want with the .psd file. Wouldn't take more than five seconds.

I like them as well. Maybe for the last one, instead of TASVIDEOS.ORG it could be the game's name? But, both of the "final" versions in that post (which can be edited, so not completely final) look really great! You should be a graphic designer...
