Stage's Comments

Stage 1

I've started killing some enemies to obtain points and I kill myself twice in the "machine guns." Until the moment I active the Bomb, I have 7215 points and I kill myself once again when the Red Soldier falls on top of the char. While the bomb destroys everything at the screen, I still continue winning points. Before Game Over screen to appear, the Bomb does the Dog on the left side of the screen comes out and like this, killing him, giving me 9980 points. Added to the that already had before, I gives 28075 points. To win an Extra Life, I would only need 20k initial points, therefore, with that pontuation, I earn an Extra Life and before Game Over screen to appear, the glitch is actived.

Stage 2

In each Mines that I step, earnings automatically 500 points, each Power-Holder that I destroy, earnings 2k points, Boss will give me 10k points when killed with the Laser and at the Stage's end, earnings more 10k bonus points. The next Extra Life comes with 80k points, but in this Stage, the glitch won't work, then, it just remains to add me points. I cannot add more than 79999 points here, however, I know that I'll have 30k points at the Stage's end (Power-Holder x5 + Boss + Bonus). I've started this Stage with 38075 points, added to the 30k will give 68075 points, then I will have to do a max pontuation 11924 points in elapsing of the Stage.
I used them Mine and I killed some enemies to do the necessary pontuation, besides using the weapon Crash-Bomber with the Laser, increasing my pontuation during the Stage. To the end, I have 79354 points.
  • The weapon Crash-Bomber is me necessary for to 4th Stage;
  • In the last Power-Holder, I manipulate a bomb as a item;

Stage 3

Already being with a Bomb, the weapon Crash-Bomber and a good pontuation, I just go ahead until I can to activate Bomb and to be killed by Red Soldier, doing with that Bomb destroys him, giving me 790 points and an Extra Life, activating the glitch.
  • Before the Stage Clear screen to appear, I catch one more Bomb that will be used in the following Stage.

Stage 4

At the beginning of this phase, I manipulate one more weapon Crash-Bomber, what facilitates when I destroy some Scooter-Robots. I begin the phase with 90859 points, each Scooter-Robots gives me 7035 points, the next Extra Life comes with 140k points, therefore, I need 49141 points.
7 * 7035 = 49245. =O
I destroy 6 initial Scooter-Robots, I let one to pass so that it throws a bomb in me and before the bomb to arrive, I shoot in the diagonal so that 7th Scooter-Robot can be hit and I active the Bomb to create the Glitch.
Note: Scooter-Robots are not defeated only by the power of Bomb in Hard Mode.

Stage 5

I've started this Stage with 150074 points, the next Extra Life will come with 200k points. As in the 2nd Stage, each Power-Holder if destroyed without any enemy leaving from within, gives me 2k points, the Boss when defeated with the Laser gives me 10k points and the Bonus, more 10k points, therefore, more 30k points in this Stage again. But the only weapon that I have are Crash-Bomber, and if used in the Power-Holders in the wrong moment, I win A LOT points. Then, I approach the closest possible of the 1st, 2nd and 4th Power-Holders to destroy them.
The Boss if defeated with Crash-Bomber, will also give me A LOT points, then, to get rid of that, I manipulate a Laser weapon in the last Power-Holder.

Final Stage

I've started the last Stage with 196673 points, however, without Bomb yet. The own Stage gives me soon this Bomb in his beginning, then, I catch her, then, I activate and I'll be died by Alien.

I hope everybody can understand my SUCKS english! lolz
Anyway, enjoy !!!

Nice run. Imo, we should count that run as part of the "glitched runs". Imo, it shouldn't obsolete the current run.

Interesting glitch. But shouldn't you be able to activate this glitch by the C-missle's explosion as well? If possible, it might be faster in some instances. Also, I recommend enabling the 'Sync Sound with CPU' option for nicer sound effects.

Very nice find and well executed, Dark Cloud. I second the idea, that it should not obsolete the currently published run (rather allow a second category). You should maybe explain the glitch and how it works seperately, rather then mentioning it in a subordinate clause in the stage comments ;)

You can walk faster in the overhead stages by facing diagonally and using two controller directions at once. This would save time in those two levels.

Fixed. Have to remember that there's the normal game and a pacifist run as it is. Nice glitch. I'm sure though that the Stage 5 boss can be beaten faster than that though.

Heh, even the ending credits were skipped. That is a funny way to complete a game.

The glitch itself isn't completely new, it was brought up about 8 months ago here, also explaining how it works. As for the run, I'd vote yes on it, but it looks very improvable. Particularly the overhead stages and the second overhead stage's boss. I suggest redoing it (3.5 minutes won't take you much time) and resubmitting.

Absolutely hilarious. Voting yes. :) I'll be sure to nominate a more optimized version for the Funny TAS of 2008 Award.

This trick is pretty sweet, and I see you put much work into finding the optimal score accumulation. I give it a weak yes vote; JXQ has already mentioned that the overhead levels can be done much faster if both directionals are held at once. I know this to be true, as I have already begun testing for my v2 run. FYI, if you double tap L or R, you can rotate at twice the speed. Though I cannot confirm this, I think the level 5 boss is improvable. The crush gun might have helped here.

I only tried in the 4th Stage and it didn't work because this weapon kills the enemies very fast. =/

Well, I decided to redo the 2nd, 4th and 5th Stage (including the Boss) using those tips and new ideas to improve it. ;/ ...and thanks to everybody for tips and votes.

Yes vote, but I'm hoping it gets accepted as a warped run.

Gonna have to say no to this one. This movie is too big a mindfuck to exist, let alone be published. In fact, I move that we publicly execute the creator of this movie in Times Square just to prove we mean business about this sort of thing. Mindfucking people is not something that should be tolerated! Death to the infidel! DEATH TO THE INFIDEL!

system error, if this is your reaction to a simple "skip to next level" glitch, you are definitely in the wrong place. That said, I don't like it that the ending is skipped. Plus, this is improvable, and the author is already at work improving it, so I'm going to vote no.

Geez, can't you people handle a little sarcasm? Okay, maybe it was a lot of sarcasm. Okay, it may have little over the top, but still, I thought most people would've realized that. Guess I was wrong. >_> I do like this movie, and do want it to be published. Like others said though, it's best that it not replace the current one, and have it be put into a "glitched" category..

Or maybe the reactions to the sarcasm were actually further sarcasm! You never know!

Sarcasm is quite difficult to detect in a channel consisting mostly of text like these forums. If you insist on using it, I'd suggest JXQ's method, as demonstrated in this thread.

It's not the sarcasm so much as the hyperbole that's been commented on.
