Here is yet another post for an addictive game, Enigma. http://www.nongnu.org/enigma/ It is open source and available for many platforms. It is based on a game called Oxyd that I have never played. Each level is a puzzle that not only requires thought but also dexterity.

I may be a bit obtuse here, but I don't really understand what's the big idea in this game. It feels like a "how long before you get exasperated and start moving the mouse around wildly, not accomplishing anything" type of game.

The first 15 or so levels in the tutorial pack (the default selected level pack when you play the game for the first time) introduce you to game concepts and the levels themselves are pretty boring.

What an excruciatingly boring game. It doesn't seem to test anything other than patience. They say it's supposed to be a puzzle game, but all the levels I tried only required me to randomly hit the squares and figure out which ones belonged together. Usually this involves going through some painstaking maze over and over again. In the words of Strong Bad: DELETED!

Admittedly, the first 15 levels of the tutorial pack are boring. If you are complaining about other levels, then maybe I just have an odd taste for games. While most levels do involve matching more than a few pairs of squares (which I admit is my least favorite part about this game), usually the main point of the level is to gain access to those squares in the first place since obstacles often get in the way.

They should seriously consider removing those "random try" stages because they ruin the motivation to experiment the game.

If you find the levels boring, perhaps you should try dropping in .DAT files from any of the Oxyd games. Just be warned that not all Oxyd levels can be completed, since Enigma is still incomplete.
