The players here arent gods.. it takes time for them to make speedruns too and if you cant be patient then you wont get anything.. and the attitude doesnt help either hell ive been waiting for a FF3 update for around 2-3 months now and you dont see me posting over 10 times in 2 days for it..

If you can't do it by your own (and others, you seem to assume, can), it's because you're not patient enough. You need to learn to be.

Well I know I can do it but I dont have the time. ok Im officially done with this game its too much work. I guess it will be one of those games were nobody wants to do a speed run on,and I dont blame anyone btw Boco, your strategy for stacking is dumb you dont wait and predict for a plane to crash, you follow this guide http://incise.org/papers/simcity.html and another thing I found out is that stacking residential doesnt work, but it helps for stacking commercials, and industries, and other stuff that does work while stacking.

SSVegetto: I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this, but I think Saturn's not-very-tool-assisted run of SimCity does in fact go up to 500,000 people if you view it correctly. But, why do you need to see this? That's what seems odd to me about your request for it, that you don't even give any indication that you like the game...

NO I watched his demo, and at a certain point he destroys 2 power plants then brown outs occur and then after the population doesnt really go up and I put the thing on turbo mode for like 40 mins nothing went on. Seems wierd to me. I want to see what happens when you reach 500,000, and dont spoil it for me either. Offsubject question: btw Bisqwit, was that speed run of Smb1 a april fools joke or something, cause when I watched it I'm like what the heck, whoever thought that you couldn't beat smb1 without running of course you can. but the thing im curious about is if you can beat it without jumping.

You probably just watched it with the wrong emulator. It has to be Snes9x 1.43 WIP, (like it says in the author's comments of the run), regular Snes9x 1.43 won't work. Also sometimes it won't work anyway and you have to start watching it again from the start to make it work. (If you see something really stupid like that, chances are it's an emulator problem and the movie isn't supposed to do that.) And of course it was an april fool's joke, it even said so right in the description.

Actually, you would have an insanely hard team beating SMB1 without running unless you had a keen eye for invisible ladders. There are 3(?) pits that are too wide to cross without running. And no, it is impossible to beat the game without jumping.

The version you just told me to use screws up right in the beginning .

http://vincent.grigorieff.free.fr/snes9x/Snes9x-143-WIP1-win32.zip this is what I downloaded and what it says to use on this http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=558 wrote
-recorded on Snes9x v1.43-WIP 1 -no warps or passwords used -I used the money-glitch for 999999$ for saving time -got as many presents as I could (Casinos, Parks, Headquarters...) -Sim City is a Town-Building game. The goal is to get as much population as possible in your Town. -The movie shows how to build a Megametropolis of more than 500000 population in a very fast time, got it on April 1904! The planning of the town before building it was hard and costed a lot of concentration.

Did you remember to wait a while after starting the game before you played the movie? Did you remember to play it again without closing the program after it didn't work? Did you read the submission details and make sure you're using the exact same ROM (maybe it requires the Japanese version or something)?

Just...try to stay calm, arright? I had the same problem with the Secret of Evermore movie because of a cheat left on. But, there's no reason to insult everyone and call them wrong.

Good. We're both satisfied, because there's a Sim City movie that meets the goal.

No, because there's a menu from which you can force disasters. Have you ever actually played this game?

yeah I know but still thats not the correct way to do it. You cant put out flames with your bull dozer anyways. You do it with residential zones. then when you cut a few squares out the Residential zone, you put a commercial there then you bull doze the Residential zone and the commercial zone becomes smaller 1/3 its size. What I meant about crashing a plane is random is that how do you get the plane to exactly crash where you want it. This thread needs to be closed anyways.
