It's not because it can't be faster that it can't look better. Anyway, it was just a propositon. I thought Hero of the day wanted to have better movies on this site. I guess I am wrong or maybe he just don't want his name associated with my name. Anyway, his real motives are obscure. I think I will continue working on some better game than losing my time posting here.

Oh, it's hard to disagree. Seriously, you have enough anticipated projects waiting to be worked on, rather than improving entertainment in Donkey Kong.

I couldn't accept a submission which states "more entertaining" given the nature of the game, you couldn't possibly make it more entertaining while not losing time.

No, seriously, it's possible. However, it won't be "whoaaaaaaaaa that's outstanding" but still a little better.

nor could you make it more entertaining BY losing time. nor could you match this time but have a LESS entertaining movie.

Why is this even being argued about? As far as I can tell anyone can submit a TAS, and the discussion seems to be focusing on whether the hypothetical possibly perfect TAS that Phil hasn't made that won't bear Hero's name that nobody could possibly have watched that might or might not be measurably more entertaining than the existing possibly perfect TAS of a rather boring game whose claim to fame is its age and the ease of TASing it... should be accepted or not? Not only is THIS movie not really being discussed, a movie that doesn't EXIST is being discussed. Why not hold the discourse for later, if and when Phil submits his version (rhetorical)? Why state unequivocably that you will vote a certain way on his movie when you don't even know what it looks like (rhetorical)? *Exits.*

I have an idea, let's have a contest to see who can make the LEAST entertaining movie without losing any time! Don't we already have enough entertaining movies? I wanna see something original!

Yes! Let's see something original, so we can be down right bored with it! Entertainment be damned!

I don't think they should be changed, but I am sure bisqwit changed phil's yes vote to a no vote.

It would be hard to beat the Rampage TAS in that category.

Wow nice discovery. I am voting yes. Though you didn't played with death. When I red it was 8 seconds faster, I thought it was a similar trick like the Atari version but it's a little different. I wonder why no one had found it before. It can be done at full speed. At least, I never claim it to be perfect but JXQ's gang is still happy.

Fuck that. A good movie doesn't mean fast as possible. And it's clearly stated in guidelines and such.
It's not that he did it faster. It's how he did it faster that everyone's clamoring about. The manner in which he did it faster is entertaining in its own right.

As if the word "entertaining" isn't subjective? I believe that's the reason this whole site, like it (or admit it) or not, it will always be based on speed, because speed can be quantified. Although I guess the "Did you like watching this movie question" tries to combine the two...

Wow, cool glitch. I guess it's fun to fight about things, so I'll respond to the other conversation. I seem to recall a time when someone made a faster SMB run, and then there was a second run that used the new trick to achieve an identical time, but otherwise used the route from the previous movie, which was more entertaining and collected more coins, or something. In other words, it was exactly the same length, but it was more entertaining. So I don't see why someone couldn't successfully submit a run for any game, with an identical time, that was more entertaining. But, really, Jweb beat me to it. Why bother arguing about it (other than to have something to argue about)? Everyone is free to submit anything they want. If you don't like what they submit, vote No to it.
