I think we should chose a game each month (or week, or however long you want) and everybody focus on time-attacking that game. Then, at the end of the month (or week, or whatever) the fastest time could get published at Bisqwit's site. I'm sure we could get some really good times on games because like I said earlier, competition breeds perfection. We could have one game per system per month, i.e. Legend of Zelda for NES, CastleVania IV for SNES, and Sonic 1 for Genesis, and then next month switch games. Either that, or we could just focus on one game per month, such as Legend of Zelda for the first month, and then CastleVania IV the second month, and so on. Anybody have any input to this?

Sounds good to me. As for games, I say: SNES: Zombies Ate My Neighbors NES: Legacy of the Wizard Genesis: Vectorman

I think it's more productive to let people focus on their own projects which would result in more videos being published each month rather than have a large group of people focus on only one game. You'll probably get only a handful of people at most who'd participate. Kung Fu, the most competitive game on this forum only had around 6 people making runs for it.

I agree with him. I have a suggestion: At the end of the month, we should make a top 5 for each game, including the fmv, the smv or the gmv of each one.

this is a rather good idea. as Genisto mentioned, have the 1st place time as a normal video download along with the emulator file, and the rest as just an emulator recording downloading. 1st place should get the "prize" of being turn into an actual video.

Also instead of competing on whole games, how about competing on single levels at a time? For example for one week, everyone tries to do the first level of Castlevania 4 as fast as possible. Then we'd select the fastest one and continue from there to the next level. I think more people would be inclined to participate if they didn't have to spend 9 hours to do a whole game if they could just spend half an hour to do one level. Of course, this is just another one of my crazy ideas so it could be totally unfeasible.

Thats a good idea(blublu and dan). Anyway, as to what Devience said, we have too many movies in queue right now anyway, and this will make better movies than just one person working on it.

I actually like Blublu's idea more than mine. Isn't that kinda what the folks at QdQ (Quake done Quick) do?

In some games one level per month doesn't work because of the continuation problem of the next level. The next level can be done faster if you do the previous one slower. This is a good idea still and what I propose is that there should be awards for the monthly challenges eg POM (The Player of The Month) and it should be given to player who wins the challenge regardless of if someone else beats his time afterwards. POMs would be listed on Bisqwit's site just like Mario Kart - Double Dash Awards are listed. I guess this would bring more activity. And of course the winning movie would be published on Bisqwit's site.
