Hi I'm trying to record a run for Zelda: OoT mostly just for fun, but when I start the playback everything de-syncs at some point and link starts running into walls, slashes with his sword in the middle of nowhere, and does a whole lot of things I didn't do it the run. (He started doing it the first time in the middle of Hyrule Field and the second time near Hyrule Castle before getting the Weird Egg. So now, I'm playing for a couple of hours straight then I watch the playback, and I lose 2-3 hours of playtime because Link acts all f*cked up and I need to re-start huge parts of the run. Is there anything I should know about the input plugins or did anyone experience the same thing ? And how did you fix it? Or is it normal and it's a well-known issue while doing TAS ? The rom is the V1.0 version and IS the good dump, so it's more than likely a problem with the emulator or the plugins.

It really is unknown at this point, but it definitely is not the roms fault. My new theory is with the savestates; if you load it and start inputting too fast, (like if you are repeating something to get the best frame to do something) sometimes it just doesn't get picked up by the m64. Just a guess but it seems every desync leads to an action being performed too early like some inputs are missing. When I don't rush it SEEMS to never desync.

*slaps himself* Thanks a lot, from what I've read the only way to prevent this is to savestate a lot and watch movie from start to the end and look for any de-sync. Should have read a bit more before starting another topic ;).

I've tested to do a movie with no save/load states and still it has desynced.

It's almost as if the re-recording functionality doesn't quite support the game at this point, yet it's still being run. Good thing that won't cause any scenarios like Famtasia or VBA did.
