As i mentioned in the Goldeneye topic i started a TWINE TAS a few days ago and i just finished King's Ransom so i thought it was time to make a topic. Anyways, here's a the .m64 of the progress so far: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=A7A9A90118FDD35A Overall i think it turned out pretty ok, Tied the console world record on Courier and beat my own King's Ransom WR by 15 seconds. So what do you think? Good enough for the main page? This is my first TAS'd speed run so i really don't know what standards you guys have.

http://www.angelfire.com/crazy2/the_sexy_rivalry/TwineRivalry/elite.htm As long as you match these times you should be fine.

Match? Aren't we to beat records at this site? I just downloaded the ROM because I deleted mine a while back, I'll give some input on the gameplay in a short while. Edit: I'm suprised in a good way. I was getting the vibe that TWINE is not as uber as GE due to some gameplay differences, but you seemed to have nailed it. Points of interest: no floor looking- thank you! optimization of turns- you seemed to go in straight lines to destinations and rounded curves perfectly or near perfectly, so that's good. You seem to be beating missions as fast as possible, so that's good. I liked how you ducked under a door to get in faster ;P The two factors that are kept from GE in your playing style: 1) the movement, using C button movement while turning and running is not quite as fast you still have the 007 style of running, so that's good 2) more important the killing and headshots of enemies was exactly the quality it needed to be, there is no loss in killing speed/entertainment of enemies between GE and TWINE, so good job. I say, especially since this looks better than I expected and that you seem to suffer no desynchs, to go for it all the way. My only advice is not to follow the WR's all the time- try to beat them with better optimization or testing of new strategies.

since most probably don't know this; Wyster is Henrik Norgren on that rankings site. he's also pretty good at GE. ;)

haha that would explain it. so yeah we have a skilled runner, and proof that the run itself will be entertaining, so I hope Wyster does this, I'll check WIPs throughout.

Thanks for all the positive comments! Ok so i'm like halfway through Thames Chase now(yeah haven't worked that much on this lately) and i found it pretty strange that one moment the .m64 was 26kb big, then after recording a bit more it's 2mb?! Anyone got any idea what the hell just happend? (Though it still runs fine)

Finally completed Thames Chase =) http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=C17E6C3C3A247AD5 Some notes about the run: My time was 56 seconds which ties the AGENT record! In the very end instead of headshooting the 2nd guard i actually shot into the wall so it bounced back on him! It didn't kill him but i thought it was cool so i kept it in the run.

Exactly what do you mean with version? Isn't all the information about the Rom given when you open the .m64 at "start playback"?

it only says "twine usa". It doesn't say if it is .z64 or .v64 file, nor does it tell anything about the version number, e.g. v1.0 / 1.1

Nice job completing that so fast, it's strange the file is so big, there's no blank area in it.

There is only one U version, and the rom should be exactly 33,554,432 bytes.

make a goldeneye TAS, it's a better game. rising tempest can't do it because he plays piano.

I play piano too and i have made Goldeneye TAS'es(http://www.thengamer.com/GE/24-TAS/). But i just hate the luck factors in Goldeneye and i have no intention of sitting for hours trying to figure out how to make hostages on frigate escape etc. Underground Uprising is nearly done, i'll upload it within the next 2 hours.

WMV videos are also good, if you know how to make them. I didn't have any problems watching with my ROM, which is (U)!. I thought Rising Tempest was going to do Goldeneye... he was making extremely good videos. but if not, you'd be the person to do it! watched the WIP, that was good stuff.

One thing I did notice was that the gun was invisible most of the time, and when taking a shot at a guard it was 1/2 visible. just a small note. maybe cause I'm not using same plugins, but I doubt that since it was working perfectly for me.
