As fast as possible
I believe this category should be removed because every run is played as fast as possible since that's the goal of a time attack. Even if the goal of a run is to take side-quests or to be aesthetic instead of taking the fastest route it should still played "as fast as possible" reaching that goal. Also, it isn't absolutely certain that the run is "as fast as possible" because improvements are always made so it's a bit deceiving. A category is too generalized if over 90% of the runs are already a part of it; it's like making a category called "is a time attack." Edit: why isn't the LoZ time attack listed in the as fast as possible category?

You're logged in. Good thing. Now you can Log out if you wish :) For greater joy, check out your personal page?.
I find this page mostly hilarious :) One suggestion though. Make the whole "personal page?" part a link, instead of just the question mark in it. Same with the "Logged in as xxx?" part on the left side. EDIT: Arf, I jumped the gun here it seems. After editing the personal page the question mark vanished. I suppose it's supposed to. Disregard everything I said :) More EDIT: Wiki Orphans. What's the deal with that page? The desciption doesn't tell me much. Is it good or bad to have my personal page listed in there?

Would be great if it was possible to sort the submitted movies by "Date last changed".

This has been mentioned a couple of times, so I think I should comment on it: The reason "personal page?" looks the way it does is because the page the link should point to doesn't quite exist yet.

The reason the ? is a link is because the page referenced doesn't exist (yet), so the ? is a link to the editor for that page. An orphan is a page with no links to it, so the Orphans page is the only way to know that it even exists.

True, but it would make more sense to write "edit" or something like that instead of ? I mean, one can't really know what clicking in question mark does, but if the link would say EDIT, it would be obvious what it does. But what do I know anyway. About Orphans... so if I were to submit a video, my name would be posted under players, and that way I would have a referrer?

But if it's referenced on the orphans page, it isn't really an orphan... </deep thought>

Blame the creators of Wiki.

That's the purpose of an Orphans page.. so you can get to all of the content even if it's not linked anywhere.

actually, its not really a wiki thing, but specific to this wiki, or the way bisqwit set it up. normally the usernames are simply linked and will end up in the edit-me-page (the one the question mark leads to now). the questionmark simply indicates that the user has not set up his page yet... the questionmark allows easy editing, while giving the indication that the userpage does not yet exist.

Every Wiki I've ever used uses a ? to mark linked-to-but-nonexistant pages.

Wikipedia colors nonexistent links in red instead of the usual blue, but it seems to be the exception, not the rule.

granted i dont use many wiki's that have a login thing, but i've never seen it on the wiki's i've seen. but thats ok, if it is a "default" thing, then whats the argument, just take it for granted. questionmark means link to unedited page

I seem to be having cookie problems as well, using firefox 9.0.1. The problem is restricted to the main page only, I'm always logged in in the forums. EDIT: OR not. I flushed my cookies and it seems to hold now.

The links to the Contra 3 and SMW smvs don't work. Can someone with editting powers fix that? Btw, I already asked this but no one seems to have answered me yet. Does anyone know why I'm not able to login at the nesvideos site? When I type in my username and password and click login, it just loads the login page again, but I'm not logged in.

It may be one of these problems. Your cache stores the non-logged-in page, and you're actually logged in. Your cookie settings prevent you fromlogging in. The Wiki doesn't like the space in your name.

If it's the last, I don't know if there is a solution. If it's the second, the solution is to look in your permissions settings and clear all the settings for bisqwit.iki.fi (for Firefox it's Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies > Exceptions.. for toher browsers, just look around in your configuration for security or privacy settins)

I have max power but what you're requesting is something that I don't have. The problem is in the script itself. So to change that, I need a SSH login and btw I'm not an expert at php.Not at the moment.

PHP is actually incredibly easy to learn. Took me about half an hour to pick up. If you know what a variable is, you know PHP.

I don't know why it happens. I created your username in the system before you attempted to log in the first time, but I wrote it exactly as it's here in the forum. Have you tried a different browser? Maybe it's in your cookie settings or something. I will have a look at this problem when I'm having a SSH client access next time.

The problem turned out to be that I didn't realize that I had to enter my name with capitilizations so I had been entering it as "michael fried" instead of "Michael Fried". Now that I'm able to login, I have a few questions and comments. 1. Besides looking through the recent changes page, is there any way to get to the page with all the personal pages? I think it would make more sense if the page that lists all the players links to their personal pages. 2. Are people able to submit fmvs that they don't want to be published? If so, how do you specify whether you want it to be published when you submit it? Also, after you submit a movie, can you unsubmit it and have it removed from the site? 3. Is there any way to see all the movies submitted by a particular person? I think the movies that each person submits should be automatically linked to on their personal pages. I also think that the description of each published movie should link to a list of all the submitted movies for that game. 4. There should be a way to submit articles to the site (such as a listing of glitches in a game, a walkthrough, or anything else that might be of interest) that would be linked to on your personal page, and possibly linked to in the description of the game that the article is about (or if you set up the page to automatically create lists of all submitted movies for each game, links to the articles could be on that page). 5. Now that I'm able to login and I found out I'm an editor, I'm able to edit pages that already exist, but is there any way for me to create new pages? 6. On the movies page, you should be able to sort movies by player. I also noticed that only some movies sorted by genre, so you should put all the movies in a particular genre.
