Of course not to 100% (this is impossible), but very likely to more than 95%, yes.

Well, it can be likely, but chances for that are very low at least.

Thats good. That way you will be even more surprised to see the unexpected when the day of submission comes. Seriously though, do you really believe I would waste my time writing something that isn't true at all? What would be the point of that? I know it's hard to believe, but all my statements are real, and I will prove it to you sooner or later. Though if like Fabian, you want to increase your surprise, keep doubting guys! (wow what a rhyme) :-) evilchen: Please try it yourself. I really don't want to spoil anything about it yet, because I'm curious what time one can get by his own without influence (which is how I did it as well). well i just wonder when you touch the elevator in ceres , since iam improving the current one for weeks now ( or trying at least with some gains up to now) yours should be 3057 based on what you said and a 49'16 is possible with that too

Saturn, Not doubting that you believe the things you're saying. It doesn't matter either, what do I care if some run I don't care about is extremely good or if it's absolutely perfect. What matters is you're being a gigantic shithole and you come off as a personality invented in someone's mind rather than an actual human being. JXQ, Liked the alphabetic touch so as to not single out anyone in particular! <3

Although that's just in theory isn't it? Practically it is perhaps not, I don't know though.

Thanks Fabian. And JXQ is right, let's not argue about this anymore. Believe what you believe in, and I appologize for trying to tell you the truth. It's just not possible to convince one with words, so let's wait until the facts come in form of a movie, ok? Evilchen: The in-game counter doesn't matter, because I have a different beginning length anyway. The rest you can see on the escape timer pretty exactly.

ah i forgott your +3 frames in the begining and stuff never mind anyways forgott about that - but was it all worth to get 49'15 and having a slower ingame framecounter if you go for ingame time? yours must be beyond 3057 or even more slower as jxq's v2 (even ingame time)

The decision is yours. I go for fastest escape time, even on cost of slight frame sacrifices before it, because it will be clearly noticeable in any video (unlike the frame sacs), and because it gives a nice characteristic value to the run. It's just for art, no other reason.

well now i forgott about that you saced ingame frames for i dont even want the 49'15 just a good ingame time at the ending screen so its not worth for me but maybe the improvements continue to go up near the 49'15 still it was 49'04 yet but i lost some frames and i need to punish the lost out of my run :D edit: btw iam a little confused i remember this post

With an 8 frame realtime delay, a 49'07 is possible. The following movie uses the supposedly "perfect steam boost" and has all the subpixels optimized. I don't see any room for improvement unless a new boost is found, or some unknown technique is discovered. If anyone out there thinks they can improve this movie, please by all means tell me where is it improvable. Since I make this post with video evidence, this is the best known escape time possible. All other claims are of no concern unless they too provide proof. "49'07

Alright, since I promised, and since you apparently need a proof that badly to see how hopeless and untrue my statements are, here is the demonstration of the 49'15 escape, directly ripped from my cancelled any% WIP: http://www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/SM%20%2D%20Ceres%20Escape%20in%2049%2715%20by%20Saturn.rar Enjoy! PS: Evilchen, I do aim for fastest in-game time without abusing the menu pause screen. The slight delays for a faster Ceres escape are the only exception, as it demonstrates pure precision everybody can follow in realtime for this part of run.

I just hope no one's going to come up with something as stupid as "That video could've been manipulated, show us smv". I can wait for Saturn's full run, nice video though. :) I did believe it's possible, but it's very good Hero got 49"07' on his own without any help. Serious TASing skills. I think it was well said that you aim for the fastest escape timer only for art and showing off what the highest time could be. TASing is like art in it's own way, this is at least my opinion. Evilchen: What do you mean, 49"16' is possible?

~~ you should read with a bit more attention tonski T_T edit: well tonski the 49'07 was put together with help of moozooh hero jxq and me :x and the 49'16 thing was if saturn had a ingame count from 3057 but he delayed his frames inside of ceres so i said "ops nevermind :D"

snes9x gives you all the tools you need to manipulate the timer, you wouldn't even have to do video editing to fake that. In other words, that video is as much proof as Saturn's word: exactly none. Either you believe him or you don't, but starting to believe him because he posted a meaningless video is stupid. The video doesn't change anything.

Would a game genie code be able to manipulate the timer?

By saving frames in various places, and optimizing everything to the fullest possible to make it perfect :-)

Ok, I suspected this would come. I'm actually surprised to see you guys seriously thinking I would encode a fake video with a manipulated timer for nothing (which is of course possible as hero showed). This can only mean my time must be seriously that good to be unbelievable that it's legit. Thanks for the compliment. :-) Btw, I have another pointer for you:

This was exactly 1 year ago now, shortly after I got this time done in the new started any% run back then. Ask JXQ himself or anybody else who has logs of this channel to confirm this dialogue and the date of it. As you see, I had nothing to do, and just wanted to fool JXQ. ;-)

it would be a shame if you post you smv any day and showing you used a different tech or boost anywhere else beside the optimizing stuff :D are you 100% serious you use the boosts and ONLY the boosts from the 49'07 for example(jxq 49'01 does count to was the same steam pattern)

For the record, I believe you Saturn. I just don't believe that your run is simply "more optimized". You did something differently: 1. You either used a different steam boost. 2. You used an extra steam boost. 3. You know of some unknown method for increasing speed slightly. 4. You know of some unknown method of walljumping differently I remember when you told me that the reason you were 30 frames ahead of JXQ up to the torizo was just because yours was more optimized. Well in truth, yours was not more optimized, you just used an otherwise unknown technique to gain the frames.
