I heard that some dude managed to play both players together at the same time on the arcade version... it definitely wasn't TASed, since it was videocammed with his hands in the display. ZOMG!

With all the near-perfected crazy superplays of manic shooters, TASes of them would be almost pointless.

That's because Gradius is inferior. That's right, I said it.

i was sure people would come to the defense that the videos out by humans are near perfect but that's poppycock... robots do it better, meaning.... US!

Yes, but not better enough to justify making TASes of them in my opinion.

Dreamcast Emulator? What about a Saturn Emulator? I'd love to see a couple of speedrun of those games.

OooH, Virtual ON! Loved playing that in arcades last time... hmmm, if there is emulation for that I wouldn't mind TASing the game. But isn't saturn emulation unstable or something?

From what I've read, the fact that the Saturn had two CPUs makes emulator development significantly harder than for other consoles.

just like ps2, but you can still find very advanced emulators for both. dreamcast shouldn't be as complicated as those to emulate, yet the only working project died 2 years ago (chankast). maybe a lack of interest ? lack of good games ? the more popular a gaming system is, the more chances you have it will be emulated some day. let's face it, piracy is sometimes a great help for the emulation scene (and sometimes its killer...)

there is a new dc emulator that plays ikaruga pretty well. maybe someone could convince the authors to add rerecording support? http://bbs.chinaemu.org/htm_data/92/0611/57932.html http://chankex.esmartdesign.com/index.html
