How can I view the images from a rom (SNES) and save it to an image file? are there programs that do this?

I do believe blip made a little mod that can rip sprites from emulators. If you search through his posts, you should come across it (his main focus of Guilty Gear sprites). However, the lazy yet effective method would be to open the emulator, display whatever sprite you want, disable all background, save the image (as bmp, if youre sticking with lethargy) through the emulator's screenshot function, open the image with an editing software, and crop out the sprite manually. Or whatever else anyone else says.

vSNES can do that... but for animations it might be a bit cumbersome. Use the AVI writing or ZSNES' F1 menu ("snapshot + incr. frame") for that.

Recording lossless avi with background layers is my preferred option. It's how I made Zurreco's old avatar , though that was GBA instead of SNES.
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.
