You found? So you're also Matt Cook1? If this thing is not getting submitted, then I'd have no problem with you using the new glitch. Actually, I know it's more work but I'd like to see the level done both ways. Also, I highly stress that you find what manipulates your starting position in AF1, because not testing for that sort of thing and getting a lower time than a console WR is a nono, even if it's not submitted.

AF1 start is simply based on the method you use to get onto the plane. Air Base is faster when you take the side door, but if you go down a different lift and climb the ladder to get on the plane, you get the good AF1 start, which means both levels can't be optimized in the same single-segment run. It'll come down to which level's improvement saves more time.

Comic, if you check the topic called "Defection glitch for AF1" you should see what i'm talking about. It's a new glitch which is based upon the old glitch found by Matt Cook but this new one is my own finding. As for the starting position, mr.pwnage(nice name btw) described it pretty well. Either i have to get a slower Air Base time or a slower AF1 time, and i figured AF1 would be the best choice. When it comes to submission i'm not sure how possible it is anymore, apparently it synched for bkDj after first reset but now i dunno. The run only seems to synch when capturing AVI but who knows if it can synch the entire run? for the moment the only thing i do is take one level at a time, make sure it synch up until start of next run, then i make a state there and continue from that position. So i have no idea how the previous levels synch up with it. If it synchs, then of course i'll submit, otherwise, i dunno. Edit: Okay just found a way to save 10'ish seconds with glitch. So i'll definately use it. now i can finally get started with the real TAS.

It took a buttload of time but AF1 is now done!! Some crazy glitching and president pushing got me to a final time of: 1:39(12 seconds above WR) M64: http://download.yousendit.com/BDE836E4782C3925 State: http://download.yousendit.com/F1419BA3677801CD This is a pretty good time, considering the bad starting position is supposed to loose like 25 seconds, and then i ran into another problem, it was near impossible to get to the small lift in kitchen before it closes, dunno why since its been done on console alot and TAS shouldn't loose any time. I had to warp that lift loosing another 1-2 seconds. Oh well, enjoy!

That was amazing beyond words! Quick q, what's the point of using that combat booster? I'm also guessing that the pause screen saves loading time or something.

Combat Boost is faster than normal running, Even if the normal is perfect it'll still loose time, and this time is needed to make it to the small lift in the kitchen(see how it closes on me?). Without the boost, i wouldn't have had a chance to make it. Also the pause screen is called speech skip, Joanna talks during it and conversation proceeeds immideadly afterwards without loosing in game time.

Crash Site done! M64: http://download.yousendit.com/8BFDD8DC35DB3678 State: http://download.yousendit.com/7F9188C73CCD631D End time: 1:39(14 seconds below wr) Not much to mention here i guess, only used a diffrent strat than the world records by going to enemy ship before president and clone. Mine throws on enemy ship may seem a little strange, since second throw wasnt throw at first possible frame, this is because the ship didn't want to blow up if i threw immideately, dunno why, I hit same spot but it only worked with a later throw...Oh well.

Looking good, and the mines seemed fine... You might want to trim that file name a bit, though.

Well no, started off Pelagic a bit a while ago but didn't get very far, was thinking of trying again today but appareantly i got a desynch and have to re-find a level selection frame where the green lights at X-ray thingy is at optimal positions. The reason i haven't done anything is mostly cause i lost interrest, dunno really when i'll have my motivation back but i'm still planning on finishing this run so someday i guess i'll continue.

Does someone have a save file of PD with the Duel level? I'd like to TAS it a little, but it's annoying to get because you can't even get access to it with gameshark cheats using another emulator, because you have to collect all guns from all levels and then beat all the shooting range training stages.

Duel - Perfect Agent - 9.13: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5A6UX9ewy0 Pretty close to sub 9 but it's doubtful if it can be done. It's kind of random sometimes... sometimes falcon comes up slightly faster with the first guard, and maybe if you had luck Jonathan could run slightly faster. My previous PR was 9.23, so it's a tenth faster. 0:76 hits guard 2:81 (2:05) 3:45 hits jonathan (0:64) (I've been able to hit Jonathan at 3:43, but I still only got 5:50 when I got to Trent. With luck you might be able to get lower) 5:50 (2:05) 6:15 hits trent (0:65) 9:13 (2:98) I found a Duel save state from my old computer. I uploaded it here if someone needs it (all other levels are unlocked too of course): http://www.mediafire.com/?gyztyzzdtao

Are you moving towards first guy/trent while turning around? Cause that saves like .07 each on pd xbla. And hitting arm is also faster than headshot.

I left strafed backwards (c left and down) at the first guy. It makes it slightly faster, but being as fast as possible at the first guard doesn't matter because I can't get the falcon to come up fast enough (sometimes it seems to come up a few hundredths earlier). You notice that I shot Trent faster than the first guy (.65 vs .76), because my falcon is already up. Using R there makes it a little faster too. Hitting Trent in the arm wouldn't kill him, and probably not the first guy either.

I made another TAS against dark sims (the hardest bots), check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSV3662ueEU

Nice. I particularly liked the blind Farsight shooting. "Eh, I'll just toss a shot through this wall. Oh look, it hit something!" Now, can you do a non-camping team deathmatch against all darksims? :)

OMG, this was beautifull, i enjoyed a lot. I have a questions though, when i was a kid, i had this game on my N64, but in that cartbridge, no one had any face, everyone was a SIM, wich was very different than this, is there something that i don't know that i should?

I thought you got to choose the Sims' faces and outfits from all the characters in the game. Maybe there was a blank one, I don't remember.
put yourself in my rocketpack if that poochie is one outrageous dude

I know if you didn't have the expansion pack, then all the sims used the same generic skin. Of course, if that was the problem then you also wouldn't be able to play the campaign mode...

what does non-camping mean? do you mean that i would play against a team of 8 dark sims? that actually makes it a lot easier, because all the sims will be gathered in one place, and i can just shoot and i will hit somebody (or shoot a rocket and kill 8), while they can only get one kill at a time. it's easy to win against a team of 8 darks sims even unassisted.

Non-camping means that you don't just sit in a stronghold and wait for them to show up. Guess I hadn't thought about the clustering issue, though. Oh well.
