While neither would be faster, I don't doubt that either of them would have more entertainment value than the Rare Candy Glitch.

You really think so? I think excess battles would just make it even more boring.

Rare candies is quicker. All those messages from the EXP.Alls will make it slower, plus the battle startup/ending etc. etc.

Rare Candy is the obvious choice for speed. I can't see how Primo is going to make the leveling up entertaining.

It may take longer, however. with the EXP All Item, I do believe it's possible to level multiple Pokémon, and even volve them at the same time.

Wouldn't just leveling a pokemon up using rare candies make it weaker than a pokemon that's been leveled up naturally? (I know this holds true for the newer games in the series, but I'm not certain about the older generation.)

Yes that's true of the older games. They are greatly weaker. That doesn't matter in this case, however, as all that is needed here are the pokedex entries.

I would like to see leveling up using oddish 230 battle at least once... Rare candies can be used afterwards =) And primo, when movie is finished, can you make "bonus version" with catching as many different glitch pokemon as possible after getting diploma? Not for submission may be, but it would be really nice extra...

Yes, I would also like to see a lvl230 Oddish battle. So if it's not way much slower than using rare candies, it would increse the entertainment value quite much ;).
Which run should I encode next? :)

I wonder how far alone the run is at this point. All I know is that a new WIP hasn't been posted in a while. ;3 I hope one will show soon. :3

It is when you have savestates, rerecords and luck manipulation.

The cool things about Missingno. are that he can be a Ghost, an Aerodactyl fossil, a Kabutops fossil and also his most famous form, where he is something very glitchy and odd, that looks like a purple wallpaper or something :P

It was mentioned that you could use explosion and revive repeatedly against Alakazam. This would give 700 EXP to the others in the party. The question is, at what point does that much EXP level up a pokemon for sure? Anything below level 16. But how much EXP does missingno give you? Answer: 1634 (On a completely unrelated note, I somehow picked up 128 NUGGETS.) So, the missingno idea is a bad one. BTW, the rival name comes up 71 times in the current speedrun so the rival name Bisqwit would cost a lot of time.

These are all missingno. and are all generated by the name of the player. The letters are reserved for catching neccessary pokemon. Otherwise they can be caught using the trainer-fly glitch, but it would effectively be the same. I wouldn't mind to see these in a small link here or perhaps on a youtube. The reason that this would not be good for the run is that they are not needed, it would take the same monotonous process and more importantly there is a hell of a lot more glitched pokemon in the game than those shown above.

I'll field this one. Encountering Missingno sets the quantity of the sixth item in your inventory to 128. Fun to use with rare candies.

That Missingno Glitch would be good to use with Nuggets as well, for cash for Pokéballs and whatever else you want to get. The glitch really isn't that hard to do. I've done it on my actual GBA plenty of times. Well, actually. I never did it on my GBA, used to do it on the GameBoy Pocket or Color. Just something to think about. :3

Might it not be faster to just buy one of each thing you need, then duplicate each one?

Heck no. Even at the best case scenario, Missingno glitching stuff takes at least 30 seconds per item. (Well, maybe you could do it somewhat faster using the Cinnabar Island "missingno" glitch, but that's way too far into the game for it to be practical.)

There is another one aside from the Cinnabar Glitch?! Well, I never knew that, it was the glitch I was refering to, heh. Now I am even more interested in this run, which I hope another WIP appears for soon.

You can get missingno by the trainer/special of the last pokemon you fought trick
