as suggested by someone on the speedruns.org forum, i'm gonna make this one. i love the game, and it was the only genesis game i had. i also think this will be a very loved movie by everyone since it's such a cool and beautifull game. i recorded ecco swimming fast and it looks very nice. might get dizzy sometimes hehe..

As I said in the "big list" topic, this is a must-see for me. Playing the game is one thing, but seeing it played good and fast would be great.

nice... while recording it doesn't seem fast, but while playing, wow! the fast charge move can be done without waiting, press C, and the press B so he will charge forward right away! perfect for after u beat an enemy.

I really want to see a good run of this. It's one of the harder games I have ever played, and it's responsible for a smashed-up controller of mine... Good luck with it.

I'd rather see a Tides of Time run, myself.

I'd rather see both... .. ^_^;; Oh, hey, this is my first one-line post here! I need to add more text!!!!! Yes, Ecco is a hard game. The sequel is harder too. I used to spend ages when I was little just jumping around in the surface of the water.. great times... Then, when Ecco came out the the Dreamcast, I did -exactly- the same thing. Just sat there splashing around the water saying "ooooh pretty..."

I like Tides of Time better too. The vertical levels where the huge boss chases you were awesome.

i personally like the first one, because it was the first of the 2 i played. it's like watching a movie and then watching the sequence, u lost the originality feature. ecco 2 has some nice features, but the first one has more of the underwater feel to me. i have tried playing the second one, but i got tired in the middle of the game.

Agreed. I didn't really like jumping from midair lake to midair lake (partly because, if you missed, you had to start all over again).

I have no complaints over seeing some incomplete previews... *wink wink nudge nudge*
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.

ok, here it is! http://paginas.terra.com.br/lazer/parasempredaniel/ecco-foda-v1.zip i don't like it so far, on the first level i used "hit rock with face" to do tight turns, i thought it was ugly, so i did "slow down way before turn" on level 2 to make the turns and i think it looks uglier. i guess i can't slow down at all...

Which version didja use? I nabbed both 'ECCO - The Tides of Time (E)' and 'ECCO - The Tides of Time (U) [!]' and neither seem to work properly. The former has you plowing into a rock almost immediately and getting hung up. The latter brings up a language-select screen at the beginning that you never get out of. x.X;

Tides of Time is the sequel, aka Ecco 2. He's time attacking Ecco 1. I used "ECCO_(U)_[!].bin" and it worked perfectly.

*wince* Ach, I knew that. I guess I just skimmed through to see if a version was mentioned, saw the second game mentioned, and my half-asleep brain rolled with it. But yes, I'll be happy to see the rest of the levels, as well. Ecco seems to be set on Ludicrous Speed. o_o

new version has made it 200 frames faster. i decided to get hit on this run. it would be a nightmare to try to avoid getting hit, and it would be slower, as always, so i'm going for speed. finished level 3 ----- 2:00 mins finished level 4 ----- 3:30 mins

pressing C repeatedly increases speed, and the emulator helps to make it perfect.

Can we get to see what you have done so far? The preview of the first two levels were very interesting.
