(I would backup this statement with a reference, but I a web search for the column (pun not intended) that I had in my mind, yielded empty.)

Perhaps the "more search options..." link could be changed to this new page (and perhaps change a bit that link text) and then in the search page put a link to the movie search page...
That actually sounds complicated, and perhaps it is. (Perhaps the search page could include a "platform" dropdown menu or something? I don't know. Is the moviesearch page useful anylonger?)

I considered that, but I have seen many other Wiki sites doing it the same way I'm doing now (i.e. a link to a separate searching page) and until I know for sure that there's no good reason why they do so, I won't change it. :)

MediaWiki-based sites generally don't. :) I personally just think it's convenient; I don't think there's any real reason why some sites don't do it, either (apart maybe from the fact that there may be wiki software that handles things this way - I'm not familiar with anything except MediaWiki, though), but maybe I'm just missing something obvious. :)
Keeping the search field on a seperate page discourages lazy users from using it, thus keeps server load lower.
It also somewhat ensures that those able to reach the search function are also capable of formulating fitting search words. Natural selection, if you want.
The userfriendly way is to put it on the main page, though.

Sandboxing is a lot like mudwrestling, with a few key differences. Let me explain.
In the US, college fraternities and sororities throw wild and wacky parties where girls get drunk and wrestle in slippery substances like mud, jello, or KY personal lubricant. Usually they wear flimsy clothing at these bouts, so invariably their clothes are torn off by their violent grapplings. Soon enough, you have two naked women slipping and sliding around in a pool full of whatever, cheered and jeered on by a bunch of drunk and horny guys. Sometimes the girls will forget they are supposed to be wrestling and start making out, instead. At some point during the show, someone with a camera will take some pictures and post them on collegehumor.com.
Sandboxing is pretty much just like that, except it takes place under oppressive Muslim theocratic regimes like Iran and Saudi Arabia, all the women wear burqas and boxing gloves (because it's sacreligious to see a woman's naked hand), and someone always dies in the end.

I added a search box to the front page. It seems to have gained popularity immediately upon its publishing.
Also, I added the forums to the scope of the search, thereby increasing its usefulness and power. The front-page search box however won't search forums by default, in order to not make it too easy to DoS the server.
Perhaps the search results could be sorted by relevancy. For example, if the search string matches published movies, show those first (perhaps sorted by rating?). The next most interesting results would be, I think, pages which contain the search thing (such as the trick pages of some games), and lastly not-yet-published submissions.
For example, if someone writes "super mario" in the search field, it's most probable that he is searching for smb movies. However, the four first results are about tricks in different super mario games. I'm sure there may be even more extreme examples of this.
So I suggest to sort the search results to show first published movies, then pages (excluding submissions) and then submissions.
