On a related note, I've been looking to get a copy of that game because it's about as close to TGM2 as I'll ever be able to find. But all the stuff is in japanese and that's a serious show stopper for me. Where can I find that game and how do I make it run? :/

Download from here http://www.hosiken.com/software/windows/heboris2001/download.html and install. Then go here http://hebo.game-host.org/ and download a Full Package, such as C7V4EX YGS2K+ Full Package, and extract the contents into the folder where Heboris is installed. Then, hopefully, you can start the game, though you have to wait a while for the thing to compile. Then almost everything is in English and you have a language option to change everything else into English. The default controls are s - up z - left x - down c - right b - A n - B m - C (I forgot what Hold was) Depending on which version you're playing, 'q' will stop a game (in Lite, F1 to pause, then either A+B or A+C, I forgot) and 'esc' will exit the program. For more info go here http://www.tetrisconcept.com/wiki/index.php?title=Heboris_Unofficial_expansion The game is a mess though, which is why I prefer Lite since it's easier to navigate...

I think it's directx based. I don't have hardware acceleration and windows BSOD'd. Game over. :( Aw well, thanks for trying. I'll try it with wine later.

I built a big yellow wall :P Pic, Movie It was a bit harder to get the yellow blocks to the bottom, since they are 2x2 instead of 4x1 (red blocks).

Check here http://tetrisconcept.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=169&start=495 edit another TGM clone is there if you couldn't get Heboris to work as far as I can tell, it plays exactly like TGM1/2+

Just managed to get another game with 2 red tetrisses. I believe it's the third time I got it now, so it might not be as special... but I still thought I'd mention it... since it's still not very common and might be enjoyable.

Made a red tetris with a game that didn't start with a red piece. You need to clear the entire board, and get a red piece right after that... so you have to be pretty lucky. This movie gets a bravo almost right away, which is kinda cool... I went game over at 12.7 million though.

I'll never get tired of watching your runs. I especially like the comeback parts, where you keep a cool head scratching at the top of the screen.

Glad to hear that emu. I'll keep posting the movies where something new/remarkable happens then :) http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/index.php?replay=5612 I've never gotten a red tetris as late in a game as this. I was already at 10.5 million before I finally got the red tetris I had been preparing from the start. The movie ends up with 19.8 million, which is unfortunately a little lower than the highschore. Next time I post a movie, hopefully it will be a new highscore :)

There's been a bit of TGM (1) in the IRC channel, so here's an attempt at a record which I, um, recorded. GM in 11:56.90 which is also a good video for anyone who wants to see what the TGM series is like. If you can find a copy of the game for yourself, it keeps track of high scores internally and they're all time-based, so try to beat me. And my real record is 11:30.18 in mono mode.

I can't even stay alive in that game that long, and you pull off something like that. That is astonishing.

I still don't think 3 red tetrisses will happen, but I just did a failed attempt which could be called somewhat serious: http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/index.php?replay=5719 (At least, I didn't get killed right away, and the idea was visible... I think with more attempts it could be technically possible, but the chances of getting 3 red blocks right at the start are very very slim. As in this game, 4 red blocks are even way better than 3 red blocks, since you can build somewhat of a fundation at the start, but the chances of getting 4 red blocks at the start are obviously even smaller.)

A small improvement of the deathmode highscore. Finally broke the 22 million :)

Finally an improvement worth mentioning. Quite a big improvement on my normal mode record (142.603.360 to 186.113.862: http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/highscores.php Watch the replay here. Edit: It's not the fastest game ever. I stopped manually locking at about 8-9 million. Normally I do this ~10-15 million. I could keep doing this a lot longer, but I generally manage to get a lot more tetrisses if I stop doing it after about that score... and after 10 million, you really start noticing that tetrisses add a lot. Especially at the end of the movie, the score rises very fast, so it's hard to tell what score I could possibly get. I can definately get over 200 million if I manage to survive a little longer, and maybe even more if I get a bit better. (Btw, there are a quite a few people who are a lot better at tetris than I am, it's just that they aren't playing this particular tetris game)

Anyone play hi-games.net's new Tetris implementation? It's very similar to Sprint's Tetris (the 20G mode would be like death mode). Here's my forty lines record. Oh, and you need to register if you want to customize your settings.

I just gave it a test run. I declare it to be shit. Freezes randomly, making 20G mode impossible to play.

Harsh! Do you have the latest version of Java? That usually fixes most people's problems. What's your OS and browser?

Windows XP, Opera/Firefox. And yeah, I know it's harsh -- it's meant to be. 20G is unplayable with that kind of lag.

http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/index.php?replay=7044 Interesting game I just played. Don't think I ever got a red tetris this late, and I only cleared more lines in deathmode once. No highscore unfortunately due to the lack of tetrisses...

Is there some special bonus for getting a tetris composed solely of red pieces? I have to admit to being amused at how many times you blocked off the leftmost column only for a red piece to immediately show up to mock you.

No, it's merely done for entertainment. Makes the first part of the game, where there are hardly any points to earn more interesting (for me, playing the game).

Yeah, usually I get it a LOT sooner... the game way playing around with me here :)
