SNES Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island (USA v1.0) in 1:38:57 by Spezzafer is my all-time favourite run. I'd like to see any SMW2 run and this is a good excuse as to how I could see another. :)

Wouldn't this be better off somewhere like, oh I dunno, Here ? Still, I gotta say a 100% run of this game would require a heck of a lot of work... I wonder who would be up to it.

I have been working on this for some. I might have a run ready for you in about 4 years. I have to tell you, spezzafer is my hero for completing any kind of movie for this game. YI is a hell of a game to do a TAS on.

Although linked to somewhere in the other topic, here is what Spezzafer had done of the 100% run.

OMG, a run like this would be the most entertaining movie ever, with sm64 120 star run.. Please someone do it!

Sucks that it'd be so hard. It really would be amazing. What made the other run so amazing was the way there were eggs flying around in every which direction each one making their mark. Really beatiful. I describe it to all skeptics of speedruns as though it were something out of the Matrix.

I agree, it was amazing. I liked the 100% 'WIP' better because he is getting everything and not just running through it. It shows him using insane egg skills to get everything and that is really entertaining. I hope someone eventually does this.

Indeed. A complete 100% run would be the greatest thing ever, period. I can't imagine a run that would look cooler. It's a crying shame that spezzafer didn't continue his run.

Someone's GOT to do this... for all of speedrun kind. This WIP is insane; so beautiful. Did you guys see the room with the four lantern guys, 3 red coins, and the flower in the last level of the run? He clears all of it in 2 seconds. Imagine how great the payoff would be later on in the game!

FTW world 2 is finished, finally world 3 might be easier to maintain a steady cache of eggs because of all the monkeys hanging around

I'm sure I've said this to one extent or another before, but it's well deserved still. YI is a very creative and playful game with a lot of good components, and I'm amazed at how you use them to maintain a quick pace and an element of surprise while still being constructive. As someone said before, sometimes it's difficult to keep track of what you're doing. I like how conveniently you recycle/upgrade eggs. The only thing I could think of as wasted time was that you seemed to make a surplus egg right before entering the locked door in 2-4. It looked as though it just bounced off your supply stash. It's very possible I miscounted, but I couldn't be bothered to go back and check. =P Great run so far! Andreas

Woah, spezzafer's back! This is the best news I've had in a decade! I really hope you can finish your run. I tried to make a run myself but I just couldn't replicate any of your movements without watching your movie frame by frame.

This isn't gonna make it, is it? Please save my day spezzafer and tell me you're just about finished with world 6 and about to submit the run.

The 100% run provided by spezzafer is awesome. I am hoping for the same (that spezzafer is just about finished with world 6 and ready to submit). However, I bet he's super busy with other things.

I haven't had the opportunity to add any more to the run since the last update (3-4 was the last completed level). Thanks for the feedback, though! maybe in a week or two i'll get back to it (sorry for not responding to this topic)

I can wait for as long as it takes as long as there's even a little bit of hope of you finishing this. Yay for everything!

Wowie. I love the run so far Spezzafer. THough I have a question. Shouldn't a 100% run also include the Extra levels that show up when you complete the world at 100%? But I can tell you one thing. The time for this run is going to stomp any time SDA can come up with. :3
