Mediafire.com would be better, I think.

What AKA described is OoT-exclusive. Like you said, we have instant backwalking in MM, so that's obviously the fastest. I've tested all of this. On another note, I see that this topic's title finally has an apostrophe. This has bugged me for years and I'm glad to see it fixed. >_>

Well I still think rapidshare is the best option, most of the one-click-file-hoster users who got a premium account are using rapidshare. And if used correctly you get decent speed even for a premium user. The download limit is no problem if you just reset your router (if you have a dynamic IP that is). Im not uploading to Mediafire, since they have an 100mb limit end I really dont feel like reencoding the video for this. Anybody whos got an premium account is free to upload it to mediafire But anyways, since Im such a nice guy I provide a sharebee link http://sharebee.com/8a766b47

Thanks for putting it back up. I tried several versons of Mupen including the suggested one to download but it always desynched for me. I'll make my comments as soon as the download finishes.

Sorry that I made such a big fuss about it. I really thought Grunz would have a problem with it. Well in this case: for online viewing: http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/site/index.php?link=mm/runs/mmanywip password: "Grunz is a guay!" and direct link to the video-file would be: http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/MManypercWIP/grunzany.mp4 Btw. there are frequent (not very loud) cracks in the audio. Any tips how I could get rid of those?

I had already made an encode but was waiting for Grunz to give the go-ahead. Heh, so I guess that makes 3, but it's an excellent segment so why not. Encode is here. Stats: 512x384 (between the other two), 112MB (smallest of the 3), use these mkv features: variable framerate, editions, ordered chapters. Basically, just playing the video will skip all the cutscenes until the 2nd cycle, saving 12 minutes, because honestly they get old after a while. If you still want to watch them though, your mkv splitter should allow you to select the edition named "Including 1st Cycle cutscenes". :)

Hmm your vid doesn't work in VLC at all and in MPC it just plays like normal. I guess I would need a special splitter? Btw. I noticed those cracks in the audio in all 3 of our encodes, but there are none in the encode of Mukkis TAS. At least I couldn't make out any in the youtube-version. So any idea how to get rid of them?

VLC sucks. In MPC, to use editions and such, you'd have to have MPC not handling MKVs by itself (options->internal filters->remove checkmark next to source matroska), and have a splitter like haali's (available as standalone, and in some codec packs like the cccp). But really, if it plays like normal, then it has served its purpose as an encode :P

My guess is that we all captured from the windows version, and mukki's TAS was encoded using linux's. Another explanation is the that removal of quick chirps and pops is a side-effect of the very low bitrate youtube uses for audio re-encodes.

Hey VLC is a really good player. :P Your encode of bloobs run played fine on it, so jsut make the version with cutscenes the standard next time. I got it to work by installing Haali. Btw. what's the point in having the cutscene free version when you didn't cut them out in the 2nd cycle? The major cutscenes alone in there amount to 8:30. I guess I'm going to have to check out the not-youtube-encode of Mukkis run and see if there are cracks there. If not I guess I'm screwed. I don't know the first thing about compiling programs on Linux...

I did say it would "skip all the cutscenes until the 2nd cycle". I didn't bother doing the rest out of laziness and I figured not enough people would care. :P I will make the edition with cutscenes the default for VLC compatibility with future encodes.

In mrgrunz run woodfall is done first, i may be wrong but im pretty sure that the bow is needed for pirates fortress to hit the bee hive so we wouldnt have the hookshot in woodfall anyway.

I was deep in woodfall temple already, when petrie discovered this trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPStIqm3Npg&feature=channel_page this made me re-do everything until that point I'm in woodfall again and I'm currently testing some new strategy ideas for it
