Upon reaching Snowhead, before the lullabye skip, the time is ~7PM. Therefore, I can assume that upon entering Snowhead Temple the time will be ~8PM.
Goht should be beaten between 9:30 and 10:00. (Now I really estimate) Goron Race done by ~11:30- 12:00?
By this timing I'll be in Romani Ranch around about 1:00AM. That means hanging around until 02:30AM before the aliens even begin to appear.
This way the Beaver Race would probably be the faster option, however, the ranch bottle would be far more entertaining imo (alien shoot-out or swimming through 45 rings).
I'd say SoDT at 4:00PM...
This post was just a series of my musings. Feel free to come back at me on any of my estimates
you do have the option of filling the time by going to the Ikana canyon Owl statue before the ranch, but it's slower than going back and using the SoDT.
No, flying zora can't gain height, much to my disappointment.
The reason this is a point of contention is that we want this to be the fastest possible, and so we need to figure out which option is faster.

I haven't worked on this for about a week purely because of this uncertainty and I'd really like to get going again otherwise I'll get nowhere (4 months of work and only 40% complete).
The beaver race itself is slower and less entertaining than the ranch, however, if I continue from where I now am the Beaver Race will probably be faster.
If I play SoDT at 4:00PM then I should be at the ranch in time making that option faster. I'm willing to backtrack to get the ball rolling again. If, of course, that is the best option...
This Snowhead Temple TAS (which is nearly optimal except for the Wizzrobe battle) took about 1.25 Terminian hours, and it appears the ISoT was activated. So I'm afraid "9:30 to 10:00" may be a bit too optimistic.
The Goron Race should be done in under 1'06" (real-time).

Yes that's what I measured my time to, but I didn't realise ISoT was activated. I also took into account that it would take 00:01:06 for the Goron Race. One Terminian hour is ~50 seconds (if my memory serves well). Add in the amount of time it'll take to get to get to the track and I think I'll be arriving at Romani Ranch 2:00 - 2:30AM.
That means I could be there in decent time for the alien game, but perhaps I could benefit from playing SoDT at 5:00PM...?
I recall the snowhead tas using some technique that you couldn't due to whatever so it'll be even slower than 1.25 termian hours divided by whatever the ISoT's time factor is (unless I remember wrong).
Also I watched form the beginning and when you get to snowhead you kind of fall off the cliff a few times before the end of the input file. normal end-of-file messing around?
It's using the bombchus to blow up the snowballs on the third floor. The Goron Lullaby skip requires a lot of bombchus.
Sorry to ask so many times (for this and other titles), but if it isn't too much trouble for you, an .avi/.mkv of the latest update would be highly appreciated...

The previous WIP ended after the Goron rolling section. Anything after that is my testing and getting a TASing feel for the area etc so yeah that's really all it is.
Okay, I propose a redo incuding a SoDT at 5:00PM. Is there any reason why this may be a bad idea? I'd really like to move on.
I'd been thinking about whether 4:30 p.m. Day 1 would allow for adequate time, but I don't want to risk messing up this run. (After all, you can arrive too early, but not too late, or all these efforts become useless.) 5 p.m. is definitely enough though it may not be optimal. I know you probably don't want to do a testrun and then go back since the Goron Lullaby skip is truly a pain. It's very difficult to give a precise estimate, and if I were capable of it, I'd have computed an exact time long ago. It's up to you to decide, unless Petrie, Dragorn, etc. have their input...
By the way, if you didn't know already, you can fast-forward the animation of the spiraling clocks by button-jamming.
When goron bomb jumping, isn't it possible to just barely hit the fence and then land normally on the other side (to avoid the damage delay)?
Anyway, very good job. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished.
Sort of unrelated, but I'm making a sort of extra difficult challenge for Majora's Mask and I want to know what is possible and what isn't. So far I have:
-No Swamp Cruise
-No Epona
-No Powder Kegs
-No Magic Beans
-No Heart Pieces/Containers
-Only the Zora, Goron, and Deku masks
-No Mirror Shield
-No Song of Storms
-No Goron’s Lullaby
Any corrections or additions to this list would be welcome.
Also, sorry if this is a bit off topic from the run, but this was the only place I knew with alot of people good with glitches. It should only take 3-4 posts to be answered, so it shouldn't detract that much from the topic. This was the Majora's thread, so I decided to put it here. Sorry if it is in the wrong place.
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I noticed that in that WIP, you talked to the Zora after pushing him to shore, but before playing the Song of Healing. This isn't necessary. You can just play the song right away without talking to him and you get the mask.
SoDT at 5:00 sounds reasonable. I was always worried about this route leaving too much time before the ranch, and apparently I was right about that...
Also, that min% challenge should include skipping the Goron Mask and Elegy of Emptiness, and only 1 bottle. And maybe the Hookshot if you can manage it... (song of Soaring is a must, though)
Thank you.
Um, as with Darmani, you don't need to listen to Mikau's little speech. Just play the SoH in front of him. This saves about half a minute in real time, so you may want to redo from there... :(
