Can't you go up the ramp?

No. You simply cannot stick to any place on that ramp like you can in other places on the mountain. The place I start hovering from is the farthest you can still stick to the edge, and the place I stick to once I'm up is the earliest you can stick while on the path. Backwalking and hovering up at the last second when starting the hover could reduce bombchu consumption, come to think of it. EDIT: Here's the method you should use when hovering around Snowhead Temple (alternating between bombs and chus). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgF8YWsvWI4

Good job on the latest WIP, 'cept you don't need to stun the Dinofols (with a Deku Nut or otherwise). Saves a split-second.

Hmm...but then if you add up time taken to assign the nuts and in fact get the nuts it could possible be a few seconds. Unless I will definitely be using nuts later. Hopefully it is that minor. I'm in Pirate's Fortress now and the thought of going all the way back there doesn't excite me all that much.

I can imagine. Anyway, I can't think of a place in the run where Deku Nuts are absolutely necessary, but they may save some time much later on during the Garo Master battle. It's possible without, but you'll have to dodge his attacks and hope that he doesn't dodge yours. I'm not certain as to the degree of luck manipulation you'll be able to do, but from what I can see, the time saved by using Nuts on that particular battle slightly outweighs that needed to collect and equip them. I might be wrong, though.

Well, I think you can speed up the Garo Master fight, as Deku nuts are the best way to stun him.

In Pirate's Fortress. Can you shoot the hive with arrows before the cutscene loads. I've tried but have been unsuccessful. Is it possible?

Yes you can. just stand outside of the cutscene trigger, and aim through the upper part of the bars and to the hive. Unless you mean the one where you get kicked out that occurs right away, in the other room. I don't think its possible for that one, though I haven't TAS tested it.

Ok, progress has been pretty good on this. I'm now in Mountain Village so expect a WIP before the end of the weekend. *fingers crossed* EDIT -- Expect a WIP tommorow...or perhaps Thursday. I managed to fix Mountain Village and the desyncing drop manipulation on the path to Snowhead so I should be trying to get into the dungeon tonight and tomorrow.

Finally took me forever to watch through the whole thing in order to see Deku Palace to the end of the last WIP. Even though my settings are screwed up from trying to get Yoshi Story to work (Thanks Raiscan! ^^) I was able to watch from beginning to end. I look forward to the WIP (which be especially nice since now I have a working savestate.)

Comicalflop: fyi savestates are, for the most part, useless for this run. Your results may vary.

You could always... you know... delete your Rice.ini file and start from scratch. OR heres a wild idea! Use the plugin that it was created in! Wow! Just a thought.

delete the Rice.ini.... I probably should do that. using the same plugin does not work as well as using Rice for watching the wips.

Are you so sure about that? Or is this just a PC specific thing? Because I'm pretty sure using the same settings as the person who made it yields higher success rates than just picking Rice for everything. Slightly more on topic, I look forward to the next WIP you post Mukki.

I don't use Rice for everything. but specific to this game (AKA included) using Rice plugin as video makes the game synch better than the movie's default settings or gln64.

The only thing I find annoying about watching this is that it always desyncs at some point when ever I use a savestate, so I always have to watch it from the very beggining, but as long as I can watch it from beggining to end that all that matters.

The only reliable way to check for desynchs is to run the movie from the beginning every time. Because Guano doesn't do that, now he has to redo nearly all of Forest Temple, and that's a real bummer.

I assume you're going to post the WIP before attempting Snowhead w/o Lullaby, as you really don't want to do that and then have someone notice a mistake earlier in the run. Or did I totally miss a posted WIP?

Hmm...good point...WIP time comes early! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4148/Copy%20%283%29%20of%20ZELDA%20MAJORA%27S%20MASK.m64 This is up until Snowhead. There is a little bit of the Lullabye skip but its really just testing so it can be ignored.

It all looked good...and it actually completely played without desynching. Rice's video plugin works really well. I didn't see any glaring errors; you looked very good. I especially liked your touch of jumping over the Gerudo sentry boat.

Couldn't really fault it, apart from the fact you never hit B when swimming as Link when you were rescuing the Zora, now I think about it wouldn't it of been better to warp to GB after collecting the egg, then dumping it in the tank and getting an egg from Pinnacle island since there is 3 eggs there and you'll have to make 2 trips anyway when going there.

You only have to go to pinnacle rock once, at least according to the route I have. You get the koume/kotake bottle, the goron race bottle, and the ranch bottle.

That only works in OoT.
