"no knowledge of future", that's makes it pretty hard to do any better other than making it so only the MB lags behind. Isn't each MB block a specific and exact image that's always the same... It seems as though bombman is pretty much squared away, can we get a jpegs for the other levels please :)

The algorithm: For each frame of the animation, the value of a pixel is selected by the rarest value of last 16 values.

Cutman will be very interesting. But I'd like to get Bombman out of way as soon as possible...

I had some crazy ideas for the wily stages but some how I doubt they'll work :\

If it depends on room adjacency, small tunnels without ladders or involves close proximity with spikes, it probably doesn't work. Otherwise, please explain :)

I guess your ruling out zipping in the spike room with floating platforms in wily1, and that small tunel before the lader. What about doing vertical screen wrapping at the last column of wily2?

Yes, both very unfortunately. But I'm still in the hopes of inventing something else there... > What about doing vertical screen wrapping at the last column of wily2? I'm going to do it. I just hope the magnet beam contains enough juice to pull it off :) This time I may need to plan out the magnet beam usage for the Wily levels. Last time I didn't plan it at all.

Ya, juice will be an issue, I would think you'd want to get some off the green helicopter guys, maybe 2 at once. I'm curious to know how you plan to handle the last 3 screens of that column.

Using the same trick I planned for the Bombman tunnel (but discarded). Want to participate in planning more than before? Draw maps, count the number of beams (remember to consider jump height and maximum beam width) and the amount of juice left. Map templates here: http://bisqwit.iki.fi/jutut/nesvpic/rockman/

Right, but it's not a simple vertical wall for the last 3 screens (not counting the boss screen), and you have some ladders you might be able to grab, but I'm affraid they don't quite extend all the way to the bottom of the screen.

No ladders or walls are required for the trick. It only requires that the first screen (that starts the chain) has a ceiling that can be zipped through, and that the consequent rooms all have a nice clean sky in the top of screen (bottom of screen doesn't matter - it may even be lethal).

I was trying a "Buster Only" run.. And something confused me. When i was in iceman level Beginning, i shot the guys head, killed him, and he dropped life. I jumped over the life just maiing it but, when i just about hit the gound, i went into the "I just got life, so ill freeze for a few frames" mode and i heard the "Gaining life now" sound. Yet the life never dissapeared. [EDited Add]So.. maybe it was just me.. but if this really happened, maybe you can try that to fill up more magnet beams. [/edit]

Hmm... You're right. It was conjoined with Gutsman level. The mapmaker failed to notice scene change, just as it did with Wily1->Wily2. Will be fixed some day. But despair not. The first screen of Cutman is identical to the second screen. Edit: fixed.

Yes BOMF.. i was just playing a speedun when it happened to me. No idea whats going on. But, if there is a way for that, maybe it can work on other items as well. Like for Bisqwit to fill up his magnet beam twice off one recharge.

I suspect you just got two refills in same place, and picked one of them. Also note that 1ups don't stop Rockman.

Is it really possible for one creature to drop 2 items? because.. it was the first thing i killed at the beginning of the iceman stage. so.. i didn't think it was possible for one to drop 2. cause that would also work to refill your magnet beam if that was possible.

I personally am an avid megaman fan. I have a .fam file recording of me fooling around with the game (playing at 200% speed) though theres no way to prove that. anyways, i came across the glitch where you barely touch an item and you hear the sounds, but it doesnt dissapear. This also happenned to me in the beginning of iceman's stage. It was with one of those pellets that give points. You DO NOT actually get the item, it just makes the sounds and such. as mentioned, i have the .fam to show it. I'm not sure if this applies to health and weapon energy pickups. I'd just have to findthe video.... I wouldnt really look for it unless someone actually wanted the vid. Anyways, my verdict is that it wouldnt help get "juice" cuz you dont actually get the item. It may, however make a more entertaining video. Hope this helps.

I've experience something just like that too, I don't think it's that rare.

Heh, maybe that enemy counts as two because the top can separate from the bottom...

Maybe if you hit him at a certain spot? like where he cracks off.. then the game thinks you hit both sides.. also thinking its two creatures? Sadly.. it hasn't happened to me in a while....

Without analyzing the RAM I can't tell for sure, but I think you just killed two enemies at the same time.

The robot consists of two parts. The body and the head that likes to go flying.
