Yeah I was planning on doing just straight any% with the new finds. In my two days of glitch hunting i've had a lot more fun finding oob exploits than optimizing vanilla movement through the levels.
Don't want to put too much pressure on you, but I think this is going to end up being one of my favourite DS tases so far. There is a lot of potential for this to be super crazy and fast. I can't wait to see the end result! :)
For publication sakes, the glitched run would remain branchless while the run that doesn't use the oob glitches would say "in bounds" as a branch.
Anyway, those are very incredible findings so far! Really really hyped for the final run.
Fun fact, the TAS will get 1, maybe 2 medals (RTA gets 0).
Also, the TAS will skip more minibosses than it fights.
Today's batch of skips will explain:

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.
You know the more I think about it the harder it is to justify "no out of bounds" because the fastest way to traverse all the levels is to use the same method to clip into walls but in open air (you get launched really far). So even if you avoided going out of bounds you'd still be zipping and not showing off optimized line movement more in the spirit of a "theory tas"
I couldn't come up with any clean resolution, so instead got thinking more about an "All Main Game Medals" run, as opposed to 100% which would have to beat all levels multiple times plus more in line/time trials. The category is a misc category that I was told about by an RTA runner, which just requires beating the game getting the 3 medals per level with the kirby ball and ending on Drawcia. The reason I would want to do this is because the out of bounds trick don't just serve to make the levels faster, but they allow for some insane sequence breaks related to medals as well, getting them way earlier than intended in most cases. I think it could be really cool.
For the time being however, I'm just sticking to any% and am going to get started in the next few weeks
Well, if it helps, 100% is vaultable, so regardless of the entertainment value it is submitable. Besides, like others have said, probably should worry about a run done first before making others. Unless you're really patient and knowledgeable about this game and won't feel burnt out I guess.
Any% is my top priority, I'm just talking about future projects because when my TAS is done there will still be untapped entertainment value out there in the same game
You can actually draw over the boost like 25% of the distance to the end but you have like barely enough ink to get a boost, let alone two more lines to zip which would be required to save time.
