Nominating EZGames69. Perfect mixture of output, variety, and quality.
TASvideos Admin and acting Senior Judge 💙 Currently unable to dedicate a lot of time to the site, taking care of family.
Now infrequently posting on Bluesky
That's kinda surprising that I only had one Vault this year.

EZGames69 not only has more movies than anyone else by a long haul, they are almost all of high quality as well, across a wide variety of different systems with very good diversity.

I also nominate EZGames69. He's the perfect example of getting to the top despite the odds.
I also want to nominate Lobsterzelda, Mothrayas, and Memory.

EZGames69, Alyosha, Mothrayas, ThunderAxe31, Malleoz, adelikat, Aglar, and Elomavi,
Planned runs:
Marble Madness (Arcade, Genesis J, GG/SMS)
Proposed:
Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis, GG/SMS, CD: regular, camera freeze)
Ecco: The Tides of Time (Genesis, GG/SMS, CD; normal mode)
Mario Kart DS (all cups, all missions)
In progress: Grand Poo World 3 (all exits hard mode)
I would like to object to these two being nominated for TASer of the year. For both of them, they’ve only made one movie this year while the other movie of theirs was an improvement done by someone else, while using their inputs.

I think this objection is reasonable with an asterisk: players are listed here for eligibility because they fit some criteria for this category, so if reasonable objections can be made to nominations, it might also be reasonable to examine the eligibility criteria.
BrunoVisnadi, homerfunky, RingRush, Allbeert, mtbRc . Also that Mega Man Tas was great so ...Shinryuu, pirohiko, Maru & FinalFighter. These tasers submitted / contributed to my favorite tases of the year.

Only on a case by case basis I think it would make sense to apply. Like image if someone were to submit only one TAS that just happens to be of an extremely high quality, do we not allow their nomination because of only one movie? That’s one case it shouldn’t apply to.
Where as the movies made by these two authors (not to throw them off the bus) aren’t exactly notable where they would stand out over all the other eligible nominations.

The only criteria to be in the eligibility list is to have a published TAS in the year. That does not mean that everybody is equally viable for the award - if it were, then we wouldn't have a need for nominations at all.
Now, nominations normally are not examined that thoroughly (besides fitting the basic eligibility criteria), but when people make nominations that quite clearly are not up to par compared to the rest, it does nothing but add bloat to the polls. That's why nominations can be vetoed (as long as it does not come down to merely difference in taste).
Following the consensus that seems to be built in this thread, adelikat and Aglar will not be included on the poll, on grounds of their respective outputs simply not matching up to other nominees.

I'm personally opposed to Maru because of how he negatively contributed to TASing this year. He contributed gatekeeping which is something the TASing community does not need.

Based on precedent effectively set by the opinions on the nominations for adelikat and Aglar, I will also be excluding other nominees that only have 1 movie to their name for this award. It seems quite clear that contributing more than just a single good movie is regarded significantly higher for the purpose of this award, which is how I believe this award should function as well.

How underhanded to tack on rules that invalidate people's nominations on the last day of the last hour of nominations!

Sorry about that - it's a consequence of objections raised to nominations that were made on the last few hours of the last day of nominations. It was not exactly something I anticipated for, and with how soon nominations are due to close it was needed to come up with something quickly.
For future years I will try to resolve these sorts of issues in the nomination process ahead of time.

It's not really underhanded given those people have absolutely 0 chance of winning, it just makes the award process less annoying.

If you guys want to prevent conflict, how about you let your users decide on who’s worthy of this award through voting. At least for this year since it was a last minute request.

I mean, this literally cannot be helped if the nominations were also on the last day.
