Speedrunning has been a hobby that has intrigued me for a while, but I lack the abilities to perform the precise tricks that are involved in a run. I am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to make / record a video, even though I've read that DeSmuME 0.9.9 is the correct version for TASing. Could I get a little assistance on how to get started? For what it's worth, I'm attempting to work on New Super Mario Bros (DS), and I'm on a Mac. Edit: Additionally, what does the interface for making a TAS look like? Is it similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFvrZSjAtFY?

Well, once you have the game running, go to File > Record Movie. Just play the game normally and your inputs will be recorded. But to TAS, you should use frame advance, save states, etc. To make an actual video, stop recording inputs, then play the movie in read-only mode, and go to File > Record AVI. That interface is from TAStudio, which isn't available in Desmume.

You have some info here. On Mac you have movie, avi etc under "Tools" I think.
