This romhack should be released soon. I was one of the beta testers, so i can say that this is pretty good. The art style just insane. I think it go away from block graphics design as far as possible for MMC3 game. It also have big detailed world with a lot of secrets. I don't know what to say more. Depends on what you like. It's fun to explore in game world, find secrets, solve puzzles, use new abilities for cool moves. But like in original nes metroid there is not that many cool enemy fights (at least in beta version)

I think we should movie it to NES Games and consider tasing this game. Did he create an entirely new map, or just edited the old one in a few places?

It have completely new map. There is not a single room that resembles original metroid for nes. It also bigger than original metroid.

AM2R was basically a new game, so they had to use the copyrighted content. IPS patches don't have copyrighted content, so I think this hack is safe. Also, can this please be moved to NES Games?

I play this game a little bit and i have a question SPOILERS! Mario is real? I can't solve this stage. I check everything i can. Bomb everything i can. There is a arrow pointing back and you wrap around infinity. If some one finds where is Mario please tell me http://i.imgur.com/uXXSw4L.png

I found a pretty big glitch that allows skipping the final boss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-FPpyqOwTk I should also note that it is possible to push yourself into ceilings by unmorphing into them constantly (maybe having bombs help to push you up more too). I don't remember if this was a bug from the original Metroid that just carried over though.

Ok. Here we go. I found this in first week of beta testing and it still presented in the 1.10 ver. You can go to the room that leads to the last location in one minute after game starts. BUT it will have incorrect scrolling and elevator to the last area didn't spawns. If some one finds a way to spawn the elevator then i pretty sure it can be possible to beat the game in like 5-10 minutes. Link to video edit: just found a way to skip that new boss that requires rockets. But i don't know if it faster then collecting them. You have to start boss battle with him, then you use save command, save the game, start the game = boss beaten. So actual working route: High Jump Boots -> Bombs -> Wall Jump Boots -> Spring Ball -> Bridge Skip -> Boss Skip -> Bridge Skip -> Skip found by RaijinXBlade -> End of the game I found a way to skip bridge only by using all of this power ups. So you can't skip them. You need High Jump Boots, Bombs, Wall Jump Boots, Spring Ball. Link to video

Do you know if there is any plan to release this on cart? I might be interested in one if so. I mean "Official" release, not any random site that will put any game on a cart for you.
