-Super Street Fighter 2 - The New Challengers is a Head to Head Fighting game, the best of the Street Fighter series on SNES and also one of the best beat em up games ever made.
-This is a unbelievable 8 Star Super Battle walkthrough beating all opponents in average 16 seconds and got a awesome score of 1.795.500! This time I concentrated more on the combos than on the time or power of the hits and it's definitely the better choice. I mastered up to sensational 8 hard hit combos with a incomparable 6800 combo-score. Beated every opponent on a absolutely different way so you will be addicated to watch this run over and over again.
I worked exactly 1 week very hard for this movie with more than 5000 rerecords!!! and spended up to 2 hours for one opponent to beat him as much impressive as possible.
Some combos looks like there would be impossible but I STILL mastered them with a very strong will. You will not believe your eyes what you will see in this movie, my promise!

you're right feitclub I'm sorry about that. I honestly don't wanted this to happen myself. I would very like to see this 100% combos because Im sure they will not do a full life bar damage. At least in SSF2 8 star super battle I guess, but I would be glad to see them if Im wrong. I did 2 different 8 hit combos (in both rounds against sagat) one of it was 6800 points combo, highest score possible I guess.

Nice combos. But as I said before you used balanced Stars on both characters and in Super Battle you are 4 against 8 stars and the hits don't take that much damage like in this video (compare your ken vs Sagat's first 3 hit combo to get him dizzy "air HK, MP and FireDragon Punch" I used the same combo myself in the movie and it took almost 2 times less damage of sagat. But anyway good combos.

How about trying SF2:Turbo on a time attack? There's no combo counter there, and there's no new characters like Cammy and Hawk, but it's much faster pace and funny.

I voted no, but only because I was confused and meant to vote no on the other SF2 movie- sorry. My vote for this is Meh. I still dont think fighting games make interesting time attacks/speed runs

actually Im not an expert on sf2 turbo because I played only ssf2, but why dont you make it yourself alex? I saw your donkey kong run and with this skill you have definitely potential to make a good sf2 turbo movie too.

I have done sf2t, but I used Ken since Ken/Ryu the only characters I am familiar with. And there's lots of Ken/Ryu runs about, so someone who's good with another character can make a different movie.

Thing with Ken.. he can get 8 hit combo with kicks (down + weakest kick). The enemy gets pushed away from you, so the timing of your presses has to be very good or you'll be pushed too far apart before 6 or 7 hits. I did 9 hits with this once, and I think 9 is the max possible this way (even 7 and 8 require lots of save states). If you can chain this on top of another combo, you can perhaps get over 10 hits. I used Saturn's Sagat fight, and half-way through his 8-hit combo I started doing some low kicks and got 10 hits. I think more than 10 would be possible this way. Here's a quick movie I made a few days ago. I haven't played this version before, and I only really know the moves of two or three of the characters.. I really hate some of the characters since they never cooperate, so I just finished them quickly. Use Snes9x v6, with default checkboxes. http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~alexpenev/my_ssf2.smv Dhalsim: easy 7 hit combo (see?) DeeJay: I went through one of his sonic booms. And the second one even hit me, but I didn't get damaged, hahaha! Guile: going through some sonic booms. Cammy: boring. If I high punch and she does a low kick, we both miss each other .. I just thought it was interesting to keep that in. E Honda, Fei Long: boring Zangief: simple 8-hit combo (Zangief is wider, so it's easier on him). Hawk: boring (I really hate this guy! Die!) Balrog: boring Vega: I really hate this guy too, he's such a chicken. Round 2 is funnier in SF2 Turbo, since you can play at a faster speed and it looks crazier. Sagat: 9 hits this time (he's really wide!). Bison: some throws. Desynchs: Cammy and Sagat may desynch. Just restart and fast forward. Ok, someone try and get 11 or 12 hits now :)

Can you explain this better? Which one is v6? Which boxes are checked? I tried three different versions but it desyched during the Dhalsim fight everytime. While you're at it, exactly which ROM are you using?

It's snes9x 1.43, "improvement version 6", from another topic: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1816&start=0 it has some checkboxes when you want to replay a movie.. depending on what you tick, it may desynch. The 2nd the 4th should be ticked, in the group of 5 boxes at the bottom right.

to feitclub: its the same ROM I used to make the movie. Use v6 of snes9x improved, Settings: left+right/up+down "ON", Fake Mute desync workaround "ON" all other settings "OFF" (WIP1 timing too). to alex: I know you can make even more than 10 hit combos with Ken but I didn't used them since this looks too monotonous (only to use a low kick all the time, also it don't give many combo-points and costs to much time while making almost no damage to the opponent). I liked your 2nd bonus round (to break the stones). I really thought my way using the hurricane kick all the time is the fastest possible but now I see yours mix makes the same time like mine. For the first time you play this game your movie is pretty good!

Congratulations again on your second published Street Fighter run :) Here are some suggestions for possibly a future improved version: Honda battle (Round 1) could be improved. Second round against Balrog was not so good which obviously can be improved. Try your ultimate to finish each round at 85 seconds. Some rounds was finished at 78 seconds, Bison for example, but I dont blame you not be able to kill him faster. I found the Ken version much more entertaining than the Zangief run, good job!

Isn't this more focused on style than speed? Anyhows. I really liked both the runs, but I actually prefered the Zangief one because that huge russian guy has more movements to show off. Ken got kinda repetitive after awhile.

I'd like a fast-as-possible fighting game run, even if it meant doing exactly the same thing every fight. Are there really no fighting games where you can't do exactly the same thing in every fight and have it go the same way every time?

The problem is that you can react much faster than the AI and always get hits in before it can, which means it doesn't matter very much who you're fighting if they're just being a punching bag. Maybe the strategy would have to be changed somewhat if there are opponents that fall down earlier or block more or something, but the result of avoiding those things as quickly as possible would look practically the same anyway.

I agree with the creator's decision of style over speed. Fighting games speedruns would be boring if every fight was the same thing ever time. It's like the Double Dragon II runs where the author was willing to trade speed for not having to do flying knees on every enemy. Great video. I loved it.

Thanks, I don't have much interest to make a improved run on this game at the moment, maybe in the next year. I know that I can defeat all opponents faster than at 88 sec but it would look boring later. The 78 sec Bison was intentional of course to show some different fighting strategies which slow you down a bit.

I'm glad you liked the movie, thanks. However I'm not very interested in playing SF online currently as there are other projects ahead waiting for me. Maybe some other time.

Hi again! My friends and I agree with you Saturno, because it was quite interesting movie for the multicombos you made and exactly the zangief stily you used. So I really like the both.... thanks for the enjoy... And...well It's a pity you're busy right now... we could play some another time will you?
